Eventually, I decided my appearance shouldn’t be dictated by how I happened to smush my head into a pillow the night before. So I put my self-image in the hands of the $30 Revlon Volumizer 1.0.The media could not be loaded.
Let’s be real: this tool has a bit of a learning curve. It’s loud, it gets very hot, and if you’re not paying attention, it will absolutely burn you. There are only three heat settings (I stick to low), no extra attachments in the box, and the bristles have a tendency to grab onto your hair like it’s a prized possession. That said, it works.
I’ve found it super easy to style my hair with this thing. From 80% air-dried to a smooth, shiny blowout takes maybe 30 minutes, tops. The airflow is solid, the barrel heats up quickly, and I’ve actually started looking like I put effort into my hair (imagine that).
No, I don’t think the Revlon Volumizer is the holy grail of styling tools, but for a beginner who just wants to look like they sort of have it together, it’s a great place to start.
