UPDATE: After a month of owning the keyboard I can throw in a few more comments.
* Key letters are already fading off. I do not have sweaty hands at all and I use the keyboard fairly often. For this price there is no excuse for the lettering rubbing off... I can barely see 3-4 of the letters right now. * Love the media keys, just wish they were the same height as the other keys
Pros: * Media keys - one of my main requirements for a keyboard * Cherry MX Red switches. Corsair says the rationale behind using some rubber dome keys is because the MX reds tend to be mistakenly double-clicked. So far I have never had a problem with this in either games or typing. * A few additional contoured red keys - These are a cool addition but somewhat gimmicky for me. I find the extra contour on the keys gets in the way more than it helps.
Cons: * Wrist rest - This thing is kind of a disappointment. It doesn't cover the width of the keyboard so it is useless except when playing fps games. Also it is almost as tall as the keyboard itself which makes it hard to find a space where I can fit both the keyboard and rest comfortably. * NOT fully mechanical. A good number of the keys do not use Cherry MX switches despite no mention of this on the packaging and advertising. In the end it isn't exactly deal breaking, but the difference is noticeable when typing. * Media keys are not raised to the same level as the other keys. I find I have to slightly reach around the number pad to get to the media keys
At this price I don't want to be forced to overlook the inconsistency between the mechanical and non-mechanical switches although it isn't THAT much of a problem. In the end I would probably buy this again as long as there aren't other mechanical keyboards with media controls.
