These definitely seem like a step-up from the non-premium Szechuan peppercorns I have used in the past. Very fragrant! A word of warning: I have a rather high tolerance for Szechuan peppercorns, but when I was too generous with this premium stuff it definitely wasn't pleasant. Give these peppercorns, and their numbing power, the appropriate respect.
