When I first began using the Moka pot, the finished coffee had some small aluminum particles floating in it (smaller than a grain of sand). I thought this was just because it came from the factory and the Moka pot needed to be broken in. However, after I rinsed and dried the pot after use, I found that there were large flaking pieces of Aluminum coming from the inside of the top half of the pot (see picture near the right side of the hole edge). Underneath these flaking pieces, the material appears to be raw aluminum, which I do not want to come into contact with coffee that I planned to drink.
I am disappointed that this happened, because the coffee that it made was actually quite good when brewed correctly. I will not purchase another unless I am able to inspect it myself before purchase (for example going to a store to look; I will not purchase this online).

Coffee it makes is good if you don't mind aluminum flakes and particles in it
