I put these little plates on everything I own that might end up on a tripod one day. e.g. pocket point and shoot cameras/digicams, LED lights, iPhone clamps, etc. All of my tripods have Arca Swiss ballheads and all my cameras have Arca Swiss plates permanently attached. For larger cameras I have bigger plates of course...
