This product is pretty legit. Speaking to the design of this product, we can start from the bottom up. It has a rubber pad at the very bottom which is incredibly handy to deter any transfer of heat, but also in stabilizing it on slippery surfaces. Which is pretty good if you are deployed on a Navy ship and someone decides that slamming through waves is the best course of action. Just in case your reflexes aren't up to par though and the bottle does take a tumble, it's mostly metal cylinder body can take a pretty good beating. I've watched mine roll away a few times and it's got a bump or two, but remains solid.
The part that may break though is the top portion which is plastic. Though made of plastic the lid fits firmly and the clasp closing with a satisfying snap so you know that tasty coffee is secure. However, the opening for drinking is trapezoid shaped and a bit small, but maybe if you are fancy enough to carry around a portable french press you don't mind enjoying your coffee in small portions.
The inner tube you insert into the metal cylinder fits snugly enough for a vacuum-ish seal and the detachable mesh filter bottom completely keeps grounds out of your coffee. If you get grounds in there it's probably user error and you should get your qualification revoked. Pay attention to that MAX fill line, because it means what the hell its supposed to mean. Better make room for sugar and cream or just forgo that crap because that's for chumbuckets, or maybe your Supply Officer doesn't plan ahead for 700 people wanting coffee and you ran out in the first damn week.
Keeps your coffee nice and warm for when you forget that damn thing in your rack before watch and is a nice surprise later. And just in case it rolled behind your rack and you don't discover it until you lift your rack, refer to the sturdy metallic body. Like I said, legit.
Regardless, this product is good to go. I'll definitely buy it again when it inevitably gets stolen like everything else onboard.
