To make a long story short: This was an enormous performance increase and was worth every penny, should you be using a mechanical HDD or SATA SSD, highly consider this purchase.
To make a short story long: Coming from a bargain bin Sandisk 240gb with a theoretical 500MBps read and a 185MBps actual read to an actual read of almost 1800 MBps, this tiny stick of performance makes a *very* noticeable difference in my day to day from OS load time to running games and juggling applications I was appalled at how much difference eliminating SATA from the equation makes, cutting the loading time for most things to somewhere between 3/4ths and half of what they used to be.
I'm not up to date enough on crunching fiigures and benchmarks to join the debate about the performance and longevity of this M.2 SSD compared to it's 960EVO predecessor and WD equivalent, all you should know is that from a layman's perspective this is an ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL upgrade component if you're currently using a lower end SATA SSD or ANY HDD.
Thank you for purchasing the new Samsung 970 EVO NVMe 250GB SSD. I am happy to see that you are seeing a noticeable difference in performance and speed.
