This mandolin is very similar to some of the more expensive ones, like the Cuisinart (which I also have) and the OXO. The v-blade seems to cut a little easier than the flat blades on other mandolins. The adjustable thickness is almost the same as the Cuisinart. Less expensive mandolins do not seem to have the option of several different thicknesses of slices. The legs are sturdy and the mandolin does not seem to move around a lot on the counter. I am looking forward to making some waffle fries with the ripple cutter and using it to grate cheese.
