I have been reading books on nutrition for the last 20 years, and have learned a lot of false information from many of them which I believe has damaged my health. I have found Nourishing Traditions to be THE BEST, MOST ACCURATE nutrition/cookbook out there. Believe me, I've read them all. In seeking cures to my many health problems, I have tried the pH balance diet, the raw food diet, the vegetarian diet, the vegan diet, green smoothies, eliminating grains, low-fat diets, etc., all of which either didn't help or actually made my health worse. The worst part is, I was avoiding animal fats and eating a lot of soy foods when I was pregnant because I thought that was healthy, and I believe my children have suffered with learning disabilities and physical and emotional damage because of it. I now have severe digestive disorders and too many health problems to list, but I am trying to follow Sally Fallon's nutritional advice to improve the health of my family and me. It does take a lot of time and work to eat properly, but the average American watches 4 hours of TV per day, so few people can use the excuse that they don't have time. When reading this book, I realized that all the information in her book is logical and accurate. I had gleaned bits and pieces of nutritional truth from the myriad sources, both online and in print books, over the years, but Nourishing Traditions combines it all into one reference/cookbook that is truly enjoyable and engrossing to read. I could not put this book down! I read it cover to cover. My family is also happy that I am feeding them meat and other real traditional foods instead of the TVP and tofu concoctions I had been making. I urge everyone to ditch all other nutritional advice and make this book their only source of nutritional truth.
