Over the past few years I have used various methods to make cold brew for myself. Cold brew allows the complex flavor of the coffee to gently emerge without having to search for the chocolate or fruit notes through the bitter.
I have dumped the coffee straight into a container, straining it through filter material in a funnel, I have used cold brew bags. All of them work and create delicious brew but are either a pain to clean up or require disposable filters which is a reoccurring expense but worse, more trash.
I saw this and was excited to try it. It is reasonably priced and a genius idea with the metal mesh, the ball bearing valve and carafe.
Easy to assemble and take apart for cleaning. Easy to clean, I dump the grounds for recycling which slide far fairly quickly out and leave very few to sit in my sink traps. The rubber seals are easy to reseat in the proper positions.
