I'm pretty irritated that this is so highly rated when it doesn't even come close to fulfilling the most basic thing people want in a romance: having the hero & heroine interact. I'm nearly a third through the story and they have yet to meet. Not only that, but there's been barely any forward momentum in plot since the first page. It's nearly all been spent explaining the conflict backstory between Mhurder & the Brothers, then a little of them reuniting, and some Xhex and John Matthews stuff. Just the tiniest bit has even had the heroine in it at all. All I'm seeing so far is the set up for the brothers to do a reconnaissance mission.
This just does not make for a burning, page-turning romance. The sexual tension & emotional investment is less than weak - it's not even present.
