Author Andrea Neil has delivered my new favourite character, Beverly Green. Green has big-city gloss and skepticism, but in truth, she's an Oklahoma girl, down to earth with both feet on the ground. Despite a penchant for fancy coffee and her fiercely independent small-business-owner-in charge-of her-own-life-thank-you exterior, she shows charming vulnerability in her interior dialogs. She is a romantic at heart. And she has just enough imagination and wonder to engage the improbable: what's up with that scheming chicken? Was it REALLY Sasquatch out there? I'm glad this is turning into a series with Book 1.5, "Beverly Green's First Territorial Christmas" -- I definitely want to read more Beverly Green adventures!
