Customer Review

I previously used a 2 blade electric coffee mill as a spice grinder -- it died after water got into it while I was cleaning.

This device is much more powerful than a typical coffee mill for hard spices and also has the four blade option for moist items. Its performance on these items is variable -- it does garlic really well but shallots are unevenly cut. But it is still very handy and its performance on hard spices alone makes it better than any other grinder.

And it is easy to clean -- just remove the bowls and wash them. I won't be shorting out this one.

One IMPORTANT operational note -- The instructions state that the bowls must "locked" for the device to operate. But they don't tell you the secret: To lock the bowls you need to turn them clockwise a a quarter turn. This is easy to do but wasn't initially obvious to me as the bowls initially settle into a position that seems locked. It isn't; you need to twist them.
