It was back to school time about a month ago and with two kids starting 1st grade, it was a busy time to shop and prepare school supplies. Other than labeling, one other task of significance was sharpening 40+ pencils (regular #2 lead pencils and in some cases color pencils). In the past, I'd use the electric pencil sharpener in the office, but with less and less pencil use in the digital age, even the one we had in the office was a weak and low volume one that started choking after the 4th pencil in a row.
Did some research and really wanted to get one with the helical cutter (just like the ones in the old heavy duty manual hand crank ones) that would last a while. Decided on this model and it is awesome. Shredded through the 40+ pencils in no time at all. The only issue is that we don't have a place to put this full time, as it is not small, so we store it until we need to sharpen more than a few pencils.
