I've been sprouting for years. Usually I just stretch a double layer of nylon netting over a jar lid and fasten it with a rubber band. Nylon netting is cheap. I'm still using the yard I bought many years ago for 89 cents. When I needed another $2.00 to get free shipping on another item, I treated myself to this strainer lid. Why not treat myself to something useful rather than shell out another $6.00 for shipping.
It works fine. It's easy to clean and toss in my utility drawer. I've never understood fancy sprouting set ups. I'm happy with a jar and this lid.
