I’m really loving this bag! It was time for an upgrade for me (I was tired of rolling around with a teal suitcase on trips) and we were headed to Orlando for a family vacation. So, it was time to pull the trigger and put this Eagle Creek bag through its paces.
The bag did great getting through the airport and in an overhead bin. All of the components are very light weight but durable. The wheels roll smooth and still pop over bumps and curbs with no problem. I used the strap on top to secure a light jacket; it’s a great and helpful feature (and one I honestly thought I’d never use. But…).
My one complaint: the size. Yes, I read the dimensions before purchasing and pulled out my tape measure to visualize what it would be like before ordering. But, it needs to be just slightly bigger. It still has a few inches to grow and still be a carry on bag. I think the main issue is that the bar that houses the handle runs through the compartment and takes up some valuable space. And, it slopes into a bit of a teardrop shape as well. That’s why this $200 bag get 4 of 5 stars.
Overall, I love this bag. I’ve purchased some packing cubes to help me manage the space issue and that’s really done the trick (and has kept me more organized while traveling). I see many more adventures ahead for me and my Eagle Creek Gear Warrior.
