This well written and colorfully illustrated chapter book is the start of a series I am excited about. Geared towards children ages 8-10, young readers will stretch their imagination following the adventures of the Children of Ares.
This is a story of friendship and teamwork and about how girls can be independent Princesses without needing rescued from a Prince.
Not to give away any spoilers, but what child wouldn't love reading about Minnows School, with Olivia Octopus as one of the teachers?
Author PJ LaRue says she wants to pass the love of travel and show young girls they can solve their own problems, and I feel she definitely succeeded with this book.
The illustrations by Aristides Rodriguez are deep and rich with color.
Be sure to look for PJ LaRue's second book of this series as well, titled: The Mystic Princesses and the Magic Show.
She is currently writing the third one, titled: The Mystic Princesses and the Volcano.
These can be purchased at Amazon.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review, and am proud to have been able to add host such a lovely book on my blog.
