There are a lot of positives to this card. - It has high end components - The overall engineering is great - Swappable opamps, while not used by most, is a fun feature - Sound quality is comparable to other high end cards (STX II, AE-9 - I owned both)
The biggest negative with this card is the software. It is basic, which is passable, but could use features that other manufacturers provide. No doubt this is an expensive card and it should compete. - It lacks bass redirection. The only way to get this is to install drivers without Nahimic option and to rely on Window's implementation. Doing this disabled just pretty much all driver enhancements and leaves only volume control. Just a blunder, as both ASUS and Creative's software have this built in. No response from EVGA on adding this. - Lack of easy to switch profiles for volume, equalizer presets, speaker and headset settings. - No Dolby or DTS encoding
Only one driver update since I've owned this card. I personally believe they are done adding features. I hope they prove me wrong.
