Well constructed and does its job. But being 16AWG conductors, the outer jacket of this short cable is very thick and stiff. It's difficult to route it to the camera input without it affecting the shotgun mic position by pushing it around in the shock-mount. Therefore, I would not recommend this cable for attaching a shotgun mic to a camera if in a shockmount of any kind (including the built-in rubber mount on the handle/mixer of a Canon XA20). For my purposes, I will look for a smaller gauge cable and about 6-inches shorter, then will be perfect. For that short run smaller gauge will be just fine as long as its well braided shield.
