Song of Simon was the first of C.A. Sanders' novels that I've read, (The Watchmage of Old New York, his second) and I loved this coming of age tale. Who can't relate to Simon and his teenage angst, but unlike the rest of us he has to deal with it all in an alternate fantasy universe. C.A. has meticulously crafted a mythology and fully realized fantasy setting in which the Song of Simon takes place; one as rich in character as those that occupy it. Without giving too much away, I can only suggest that if you are a fan of fantasy tales, character development and dramatic action, you will most certainly enjoy this book. And if you are like me, it will leaving you hoping there will be more.
