I will admit I was very nervous about using such a large fryer in the house, but...all went well. Tested my electric fryer out on 2 chicken fryers for a total of 10#. Done in 40 minutes and very tasty. Chicken wasn't greasy. Tasted great the next day, too. I fried a 17.5# turkey (which fit perfectly) after injecting approximately 16 oz. of marinade as shown in directions. I fried for 70 mins, at 4 mins per pound. The wings and drumsticks were a little dark and the top of the turkey as well. It didn't affect the taste...just 'looked' burnt. Might have been where I injected the marinade. I think 60 mins would have been fine. My turkey reached an internal temperature of 165 degrees. I was very happy with the taste/flavor of the turkey. Cleanup is pretty easy, and I did my washing by hand after reading other reviews from people who put theirs in the dishwasher. Now, I just need to try out the steamer. I want to do crab legs and tamales next!
