I have no reason to ever believe Chuck Maultsby would write anything other then truth as he knows it. Of course I will pick out the USS Liberty attack because I was there. I think there are about a dozen books out there now, which gives the public a real shot at the truth of what happened that day. What I do know is the USS Liberty flew the American flag and there never was a time it wasn't flown as regulations allowed. I do know that the former Head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff was informed of this, he researched it and said that there is no way this could have been an accident. I do know that former Sec. of State Dean Rusk made a statement in his book, "As I Saw It" that he never believed the Israeli excuse, nor would he ever believe it. If one goes to the USS Liberty web site your will find close to fifty VIP's of that era who have publically stated that this was no accident. I was not topside during the attack, I was down below, and was about twenty to thirty foot from the torpedo when it exploded. After the attack I was the POIC of body recovery and identification. I do know that we had former Senator Adlai Stevenson on the survivors radio show not once but twice in which he stated that as head of the Senate Subcommittee on Intelligence he was never able to get any interest from other senators in a congressional investigation. I also talked with former Admiral Merlin Staring who was the top Navy lawyer at that time that the papers about the attack and the testimony's were to be reviewed by himself before the Naval Board of Inquiry took place. He told me over my breakfast table that those papers were on his desk one day and gone the following. Evidently stolen right off his desk before he could review them. Read any of the dozen books about the attack, and I am sure you will come to the same conclusion as the writers. Chuck has done an excellent job of researching the attack on the Liberty, and as near as I can tell on other "False Flag Attacks".
