Customer Review

I've owned this juicer for two years and for the most part it's been an excellent juicer. It does have some drawbacks. I have been juicing for years and own Breville RM-JE98XL and BJE200XL juicers in addition to the Omega J8004.

Pros: Quiet. Easy to clean. Well built. Great warranty. Easy to find parts, Makes sorbet, nut butters, pasta, etc.
Cons: Small hole to feed produce. Not good for fruit juices.

I started out like many juicing with a Breville centrifugal. My tastes moved more towards juices with more greens so I purchased the J8004. The machine is solidly built. I've never had any issues with it's operation and it's relatively quiet. When I use one of my centrifugal machines it sounds like I'm firing up a jet engine. Very undesirable if others are sleeping nearby. The J8004 is quiet and shouldn't cause any issues with others trying to sleep in.

The J8004 does an great job at juicing most produce items. Carrots, cucumbers, ginger, celery, beets, kale, spinach and other vegetables. It does a decent job at fruit if you feed a bit of the fruit between other hard vegetables. If you you are looking to juice mostly fruits like apples, the centrifugal gives a better yield.

The biggest issue is the small chute to put items through. You end up with a good deal of prep having to cut items to a width of less than 1.5". As for cleaning, juicers take some time to clean. They all need to be torn down and properly scrubbed/cleaned. As juicers go, this one is pretty easy to clean. Disassembly and assembly involve only a few parts. I certainly found it easier than scrubbing the large screen on the Breville. Also, I had to replace the screen on one of my Breville juicers after a couple of years of use ($50). I haven't had any failures on the J8004 after over two years.

I should note that the Omega NC800 resolves the issue with the small chute and has an adjustable extraction cap that allows to tailored back pressure to increase yield.

If your not sure about juicing, you may want to get a less expensive Breville (BJE200XL) until you decide if juicing is for you. If your looking to get more greens in your juice, then the J8004 is an excellent choice. It will last you many many years and is flexible capable of juicing about everything well. If your a life long juicer or have a family to juice for, pick up the Omega NC800.

**Update**

I've now had this Juicer for about 4yrs. I replaced the drum, auger, and screen just because they were getting old. They did no break in any way. It's now my secondary juicer but still works great. It's an amazing product for the price.
