A work of art. And light weight too. Gives me a much better idea of when it's running low on fuel when hefted.
I removed the gauge and installed the old style propane service valve for the vapor service on my travel trailer. The old style valve, unlike the new OPD valves, is easy to service should it leak around the valve stem (a ten cent "O" ring versus a lot of bucks when the new style valve develops radial cracks in the mating surface for the POL fitting) This loophole in the law allows us to use forklift cylinders with the old style non OPD valve. God bless our bureaucats.
Because of the fill and relief valve locations I have to instruct some newbie propane attendants that we stand the tank upright and use the large ACME fill valve when servicing this tank. Some of them aren't too bright and they also insist that they aren't supposed to put over 7 gallons in this tank which should safely hold close to 8 gallons when filled to the safe 80% level. Sheesh..
