This would have been a four star review. The game is fun to play. Perhaps a bit repetitive (bash, loot, upgrade), but enjoyable non the less.
Two problems hurt this game. A minor issue is half of what's promised is DLC. Not a deal breaker, but not what I thought I was getting.
The second problem is that this game is BROKEN. Search for Dead Island corrupt save. This has been a problem since launch and still has not been fixed. This just happened to me. I'm at level 25 and almost all of my missions that I've completed are no longer done. It's as if I've never even spoken to the quest givers. I was lucky enough to maintain my level and inventory. Apparently some lose those also.
I get it. Games are complicated things. Most games get patched after launch. A game this old should not still be broken.
