I was VERY hesitant to order a vacuum that costs almost as much as my rent. I am living on a budget but also have been buying crap vacuum's for years that can't hold a candle to my dog's hair. I have a pit/boxer mix and he sheds like it's his job. My other vacuum was a Bissell that actually advertised that it was for heavy pet hair and I used it just before this Dyson and was astounded at what I thought was clean. This Dyson picked up so much stuff out of my carpet I was fascinated and grossed out at the same time. It even cleaned all the ingrained hairs out of the underside of the couch. It swivels on a dime and is really easy to maneuver. It also edges well and has a bunch of attachments and a fancy attachment bag to hold them all. This is a very expensive vacuum but worth every cent. No joke - stop buying cheaper vacuum's every year and thinking you're saving money! This is the true blue for people with dogs. I wish I could upload a picture of my couch before and after. You'd all be convinced!
"Owners of long haired pets, your search is over." - By J. Line "J. Line" (TX)
I got this vacuum a few weeks ago, I had an old Bissel that went out on me after about 5 years or so. I recently got an Alaskan Klee Kai. He is the cutest dog ever, but dear lord the hair is ridiculous. The Bissel would take 10 minutes to clean this 6 foot rug caked in his hair. I decided to get something that specializes in pet hair, I just couldn't deal with it all over the place anymore. I took it out of the box the first time and thought how nice it looked and went right to the rug. I was astonished. Less than a minute and it was spotless (hairless). I ran it over the rest of my carpet and was pretty grossed out by all of the dust, dirt and hair that it picked up that my Bissel had been leaving behind all these years. I took off the canister with a press of a button, held it over the trash can and with a push of a lever everything fell out, I didn't get anything on my hands.. full review
"Pet Hair Eraser - Where have you been all my life?!!" - By Patti K
I had read the positive reviews about the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser, and was anxious for mine to be delivered. I am beyond thrilled with this product. I have always had dogs and cats, and have never had a product to clean up pet hair that was easier to use, and worked better. I have a Dyson Animal, and will never again pull that out to do my upholstery or stair cleaning -- all I need is my Pet Hair Eraser! I first used it on the sectional, and it of course worked splendidly. Then I took it to the carpeted stairs, and I was almost giggling with excitement. This little machine is so easy to use, it has incredible suction, and the rubbery tip does a fantastic job of loosening up the pet hair and dirt for it to be suctioned into the collection cup. On the steps and along baseboards, it does a great job getting into the corners where your vacuum has a hard time reaching. Even if I didn't have pets, I would use this product for my steps, because it saves me from dragging out my big vacuum, setting it up to use the manual attachments, and dragging it up and down the steps... full review
I am a veterinary technician at a small animal clinic. When our central vac system malfunctioned our office manager picked up this machine to use until repairs could be made. I was completely amazed by this light-weight, easy to maneuver vac. Hair, toenail clippings, dirt all gone! We've tried other stick vacs at the clinic and they usually just push the hair and nails around the floor, or they clog up in seconds. This vac is so impressive that I ran out and bought one for my 6 cat, 3 dog, 1 baby house. This vac has a ridiculously large amount of suction for it's size. The suction power, together with the odd looking but highly effective v-shape front edge, pulls the hair and dirt into the vac rather than pushing it around. It's hard to overstate the "Wow!" factor involved as it cleans right up to the baseboards, under the cupboard edges, pulls hair from corners and around chair legs. (I'd been using the edging tool on my large upright vac to do the same things--heavy, took more time, and didn't clean as well!)... full review
Two cats and two fabric-covered couches, can you feel my pain? After a while, I was going nuts. I'd go broke buying the adhesive type lint rollers, the rubber ones (search for "sweepa") and the reusable brush type didn't do the job. All I'd heard about was dysons, dysons, dysons, so I started saving. But then I thought, hey, what I want is the little motorized roller brush attachment -- so I got online, started searching, and found this. I figured $40 as opposed to $500 was worth a try, especially with the good reviews. and it *was*. It gets all the cat hair off my couch, and the nice thing is that the hose just tugs right out and you can also get the little cracks and crevices without missing a beat. The "riser visor" thing, I thought was kinda silly til I started using it -- and it's great. You can vacuum horizontally and vertically, and for furniture, stairs, etc--a great feature. My only complaint is that it's just a *bit* heavy, especially for longer use. Wears that arm out, but that can be a good thing, too. I'm still hoping to get a dyson eventually, but for the job I wanted to do, getting pet hair off my furniture -- this is *perfect*.
"PICKS UP TONS OF PET HAIR!!!" - By Anonymous "Animal Lover" (AZ)
We have two Labradors and nine cats. If anyone knows what vacuums work best on pet hair, it's me! I try to vacuum every other day with a Hoover upright but am getting tired of lugging that around. I read about this lightweight cordless stickvac and thought I'd give it a try. It picked up tons of pet hair. We were amazed at how much it collected two days AFTER I had used our other Hoover. I posted a photo of a gallon-size Ziploc that shows just how much pet hair this thing collected. A gross photo, but one that truly shows it's pet hair collecting power! Now I can vacuum every day with ease. And hopefully cut down to a snack-size Ziploc in the process...ha! I did purchase the extra battery as I will need two fully charged batteries to do the job I need to do each day. Two thumbs way up!!!
"Fantastic for Hard Surface Floors and Pet Hair!!!" - By KaCasta
I have marble, solid wood and tile floors throughout my house and this little vacuum works awesome on all 3 surfaces. I also have two dogs that leave hair EVERYWHERE and the Mighty Mite picks up pet hair better than any other vacuum I've ever used. It is light weight and rolls right behind you without any effort. I would highly recommended this product!
"Powerful tool in battle against pet hair!" - By R. Phillips "Rusty"
I am really impressed with Hoover's new cordless Linx handheld vacuum. We have 3 dogs in our home: 2 chocolate labs and one yellow lab. The yellow lab sheds three times as much fur as the two chocolates combined. You cannot sit down on our sofas without getting fur all over you. And while we have a great upright vacuum, it is huge and not good for when you want just a quick pick up. I've been looking for a cordless handheld for a while. I almost caved in to getting a Dyson, and I am so glad I held out!... full review
"Awesome Pet Hair Removal- Great Vacuum!" - By Jennifer Stuhrk (Minnesota)
This vacuum has attachment that has rubber/plastic "fins" - Amazing on upholstery! Have tried other attachments, the attachments with bristles just collect hair - I spent more time picking hair out of it than cleaning my couch! Others snagged the fabric or did nothing at all. This one really gets pet hair loose so that it actually is removed; no time wasted trying to get the attachment to work. The vacuum has another great feature; you can press a lever to stop the brush roll! If you have hardwood floor and pets, you will get why this is fantastic. No more blowing hair and dust everywhere! This is my first Bagged vacuum in about 10 years... and my dust allergy has been minimized. Baggless models my claim all these wonderful filters, but after you have finish vacuuming and empty it you get this big dust poof right in you face! (I live in Minnesota dragging my vacuum outside to empty it, it just does not work, especially when I empty it 1-2 times per room - my house is not large...) I have not had to change the bag yet, but when I installed the bag I realized that when the time comes, changing it will be a breeze. Very happy with this vacuum.
