Subscribe to and download newspapers and magazines from the Newsstand store on your Kindle Fire HD 7".

Read a Magazine

While reading a magazine, you can read in Page View or Text View and change the appearance of your magazine article text.

  • View magazine issues or subscriptions - From Home, tap Newsstand and then tap an issue to open it. By default, most magazines open in Page View.
  • Turn pages - Tap the right side to go to the next page. Tap the left side to go to the previous page
  • Read in Text View - While reading in Page View, double-tap an article to read articles in Text View.
    Note: Text View is only available on pages with articles, not advertisements. Double-tap the article to return to Page View.
  • Adjust the text appearance in Text View - While reading, tap the center of the screen, and then tap Aa (Settings) to update Page Settings, which include font style, font size, line spacing, margins and color mode.
    Note: Any Page Settings changes you make in magazines will also change in books.
  • See which page you're on - While reading, tap the center of the screen.
  • View the Table of Contents - While reading, tap the center of the screen, and then tap Contents. Swipe up or down to move through the article list, and then tap an article to begin reading.

Read a Newspaper

While reading a newspaper, you can turn pages and adjust the appearance of text. You navigate the articles and pages differently than you do with books and magazines.

  • View newspaper issues or subscriptions - From Home, tap Newsstand, and then tap an edition to open it.
  • Access articles in a newspaper issue - When you first open a newspaper, it displays a list of all the articles in the issue. Swipe up or down to move through the article list, and then tap an article to begin reading.
  • Skip an article - While reading, tap the center of the screen, and then tap the arrow icons to move the articles.
  • Turn pages - While reading, tap the right side to go to the next page. Tap the left side to go to the previous page.
  • See which page you're on - Tap the center of the screen.

Subscribe to a Magazine or Newspaper

You can subscribe to a newspaper or magazine through the Newsstand store.

To shop and subscribe, your Kindle Fire must be connected wirelessly and registered to your Amazon account.

All subscriptions start with a free period of at least 14 days or more.

  1. From Home, tap Newsstand.
  2. Search for and locate the periodical you want to subscribe to.
  3. On the detail page for your newspaper or magazine, tap Subscribe now.

Manage Your Subscriptions

You can manage your newspaper and magazine subscriptions from your Kindle Fire HD 7".

Only the seven most recent issues of your magazine subscriptions, and the 14 most recent issues of your newspaper subscriptions, will be stored in your Kindle Library and available to download again to free up space for new content.

  1. From Home, tap Newsstand, and then tap Store.
  2. In the Options Bar at the bottom of the screen, tap the Menu image of menu icon
				icon.
  3. Tap Manage Your Kindle, and then tap Subscription Settings.

Magazines and newspapers come in different formats in the Newsstand store.

Interactive Newspaper and Magazine Apps
Some magazines and newspapers include interactive content such as video, audio, slideshows, and scrollable panes. These periodicals are available as apps. You'll see these interactive periodicals in the Newsstand store, which will direct you to the Amazon Appstore for Android on Kindle Fire for full details and purchase information.
Magazines and Newspapers in Text View
With Text View, you can switch your magazine or newspaper to the same text-based experience as Kindle books
Magazines in Page View
With Page View, you can switch your magazines to look like the pages of the print edition of the magazine. You can flip through your magazine in either portrait or landscape mode.
Enriched Newspapers Editions
Enriched editions include all images from the publisher and can only be downloaded over Wi-Fi.
Special Access for Subscribers
Subscribers to The New York Times, The New Yorker, and The Wall Street Journal gain access to additional subscription features, such as online archive access to past issues.

Kindle Subscriptions Privacy & Security

We will share the name, billing address, and order information associated with your newspaper or magazine purchase with the publisher. Publishers may use this information for marketing purposes.

If you do not want the publisher to use your name and address from your subscriptions for marketing purposes, you can update your privacy setting at Manage Your Kindle. We or publishers may share this information with a circulation-auditing organization, such as the Audit Bureau of Circulation and BPA Worldwide. These organizations monitor magazine and newspaper sales to provide verification of circulation numbers.

We will not share your credit card information with the publisher. If you wish to receive e-mails directly from the publisher, for example to learn when new issues are available, you can update your privacy settings for your newspaper and magazine subscriptions at Manage Your Kindle.
