Register Kindle for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

To buy and read Kindle content, you'll need to register the Kindle reading app to your Amazon account.

Registration issues can often be caused by incorrect passwords. If you are receiving a password error or if you've forgotten your password, you can request a personalized "password reset" link.

To register, make sure your device is connected to a wireless or data network.

  1. From your device, tap the Kindle app icon.
  2. Enter your Amazon account information.
  3. Tap Sign In.

    Your Kindle content appears in Library.

    Note: To view or change your registration, tap More, tap Settings, tap Registration, and then tap Deregister this Kindle.

Update Your 1-Click Payment Method

You'll purchase books, magazines, and newspapers from the Kindle Store with your Amazon 1-Click Payment Method, which is a part of your Amazon account.

  1. Visit Manage Your Content and Devices
  2. Select the Settings tab.
  3. Under Digital Payment Settings, select Edit Payment Method to review or edit your 1-Click payment settings.
  4. Select the desired credit card information, and then select Continue. You may need to add the information for a new card.
  5. Enter the desired billing address, and then select Continue. You will be taken to the Kindle Payment Settings page where you can view your edited 1-Click payment method.
