Learn how to manage parental controls and set viewing restrictions for Prime Video.
Prime Video parental controls work by requiring entry of your PIN to bypass any purchase or viewing restrictions you've enabled.
Amazon Fire TV devices (Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick) – Amazon Fire TV devices have their own parental controls settings to block purchasing and access to titles in selected ratings categories. For more information, go to Amazon Fire TV Help and select your device.
Fire tablets – You can set purchasing restrictions for your Fire tablet from the Settings menu. To learn more, go to Fire & Kindle Support and select your device.
Fire phone - You can set purchasing restrictions for your Fire tablet from the Settings menu. To learn more, go to Set Up Parental Controls on Fire Phone.
Xbox 360 – Prime Video purchasing is not available on Xbox devices; and Xbox 360 consoles have their own parental controls settings you need to set directly on the device. For more information, go to Xbox Support.
To turn on parental controls, you first need to set a Prime Video PIN for your account.

To block Prime Video purchases on your registered devices:
Viewing restrictions give you the option to block playback of videos from certain ratings categories. You can choose which ratings categories you'd like to restrict, and on which of your registered devices you'd like these restrictions to apply.
When you have viewing restrictions set, you'll see a "lock" symbol for movies and TV shows with ratings in your restricted categories. If you try to watch one of these titles, you're prompted to enter your Prime Video PIN before you can start playback.
To block playback of Prime Video titles based on their ratings category:
Prime Video uses the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) ratings classification system and the TV Guidelines Organization TV Parental Guidelines as the basis for our parental controls ratings categories.
We've combined ratings into levels with recommended audiences (General, Family, Teen, and Mature) to help you set viewing restrictions on your device(s).
