Update your voice purchasing settings in the Alexa app to buy digital and physical products from Amazon with your Alexa device(s).
After you register your Alexa device, voice purchasing is enabled by default.
You can view and change your voice purchasing settings in the Alexa app:
You can then manage available options:
If Purchase by voice is enabled, it is possible to make Amazon purchases or payments on your Alexa-enabled devices.
If Purchase by Voice is Disabled, Alexa won't allow anyone to make an Amazon purchase or payment on your Alexa-enabled devices. It is still possible to search for products, add items to the cart, track orders, etc.
Use the toggle to turn voice purchasing ON or OFF.
Note: Select View payment settings to view and manage your default 1-Click payment method, which is required for voice purchasing.
Use the toggle to turn Voice code on. With this setting enabled, Alexa will ask you to say a 4-digit confirmation code before completing purchases.
Then, enter a 4-digit code on-screen, and select Save Changes. Make sure to create a code that you do not use for other accounts and services.
Voice profiles can help make it quicker and easier to complete voice shopping purchases if you have a voice code enabled.
After setting up a voice profile, the first time you or other users in your home try to place an order, Alexa will ask you to provide the voice code (if able to recognize your voice). After that, whenever Alexa recognizes your voice, you won’t have to say the code to complete purchases.
To manage this setting, you can use the toggle next to Allow recognized speakers to purchase without the voice code after giving it just once:
