Holy caps lock Steve, that is very difficult to read.

You're yelling at other customers here, not CS.

You can reboot a Fire. You don't need to remove the battery to do so. Press and hold the power button for 30-40 seconds, ignoring any screen prompts.

Lost all sense of decency? Isn't that just a bit hyperbolic?

Try it again without yelling at us. You're talking to other customers here, not customer service. Threatening us is a spectacularly ineffective problem solving strategy, we really don;t care where you shop.

I don't understand what you mean by "Amazon has lost the receipe". If you purchased the device yourself, you can go to "Your Orders" to see it yourself. As the device comes with a limited 12 month warranty, what reason did Amazon give you for not offering a replacement?

"what reason did Amazon give you for not offering a replacement?"

Either an unwillingness to try to read that sort of post if he or she used chat or those nice young men in their clean white coats came and took him away to a place where sharp objects are kept safely out of reach..

Start any customer service dialogue with that sort of rant/bizarro nonsense and the CS person will do the absolute least they have to do and will try their hardest to get that (impolite word implying defective mental faculties due to birth defects or heavy drug usage) off the line as quickly as possible.

I used to provide Customer Support, both via phone and in person (not with Amazon) and you're right. Those who shouted the most got the least. I'd often give people more than they were entitled to if they seemed genuine and were polite. I lost count of the number of telephone customers I advised to stop swearing or I'd cut them off, and went on to do exactly that. In face to face interviews I was always behind a glass screen and roller blind. Any nonsense and I pulled the blind down and went for a comfort break!
