This book is for the beginning user of technology, although it offers information that could be useful to any classroom teacher. Divided into chapters that follow a logical progression, this book describes how technology enhances classroom experiences through the lens of teachers, teacher educators, and users of technology. It begins with the very basics, such as what computers are comprised of, and progresses to more complex information such as designing a web page.
Every chapter contains a highlight from classroom teachers describing their experiences and offering their advice regarding the topic of that particular chapter. Also, each chapter has ideas for lessons which are classroom appropriate, as well as links to lessons that can be easily used. These lessons contain specific information about the target grade level, content area and NETS-S alignment, and adaptations are made for exceptional learners.
This book is recommended to all teachers (or those who plan on teaching) because technology is a continuously growing and powerful tool used in classrooms today. Teachers need to equip themselves with the knowledge necessary to implement technology as a vehicle for learning in their classrooms. Reading this book would be a great starting point.
