Useful supplement for second-semester algebra-based physics
on May 30, 2013
This guide helped supplement my professor's lectures, which were theory-based rather than calculation-based. When the calculation-based exams came around, I was always prepared and ended up with a high A.
The chapter reviews, often in table format, were the most useful portion for me. The introductory material is also quite good; the authors of the study guide have rephrased and condensed the lecture material to provide an extra perspective on the theoretical material, and you can't go wrong with more explanations.
My particular copy had lots of chicken-scratch in the margins and sample quiz answers circled. Not the book's fault, but the seller didn't declare the condition in the description.
Volume 2 covers only the second half of the course, chapters ~15-30 in this edition. This is NOT a study guide for the whole book.
Overall, a worthwhile purchase if only for the confidence boost. Always consider borrowing books form the library before you buy.
