Whitney truly had one of the best voices that has ever lived. She didn't just sing, she lived, in her music. She absolutely touched your soul when she performed. I still can't believe she isn't with us. This album is absolutely amazing. Christmas would NOT be the same without the voice of, Whitney.

In order to appreciate Whitney's Christmas, you have to just accept the fact that Miss Whitney is going to make every christmas song HERS. I noticed she purposely tweaked EVERY song to fit her creative vision, so if you expect to "sing- a-long" to some old holiday favourites, you may as well forget it. Whitney purposely drags on almost every note to each word in the lyrics and it seems like she was gunning for the "I Will Always Love You" effect. It's a bit much and it borders on Whitney showing off her vocals. There are moments when you want to say "damn Whitney, will u just sing the song". You literally cannot sing-a-long to any of these songs without Whitney changing it up, twirling notes and ooh lording throughout. This cd does grow on you eventually but it's something you have to mentally prepare yourself for and just accept. It's a strange, mystical affair and it almost sounds as if Whitney was high in some of the recordings, like "Little Drummer Boy" where she goes on forever with the "pah rump pah pump pah's". The best tracks are the more religious songs "Who Would Imagine A King" and "O Come Emmanuel". Here Whitney just sings the songs and keeps it simple. Overall it's a cute, intense holiday recording, but it's all Whitney's.

I choose a 5 star for Whitney's Christmas Holiday album because it has a traditional and pop feel. I have purchased many Christmas albums from singer celebrities and in my humble opinion, they haven't been all that great. This one by Whitney is wonderful. I got the album this week and have bee playing it everyday in my home and in my car.

Her holiday album is here. Whitney comes back to her choir girl roots, and the result is pleasing. Not unbelievably good, but very good. She may have been through a lot personally, but her voice sounds rich and strong.
The song featuring her daughter is a special gift and mothers will find it touching.
It is a traditional album which would be good for playing during tree-decorating, cookie-baking days. Also nice for the car ride at night to look at lights. A little less of a party background CD, because people would listen to the CD instead of talk. Overall, enjoyable Christmas music from a Whitney we have missed. She can still sing. Welcome back.
