You won't regret
December 17, 2013
I am a big Joey and Rory fan and have purchased all of their albums except the latest Made To Last...and that is on my Christmas list.
Since the first day I heard Joey's voice I had hoped for an album of gospel songs. This album contains songs about just what it says...faith and family. There are a couple of traditional hymns included. Amazing Grace with it's simplicity is beautiful and Joey's voice just flows over the song. Among the other songs, and there are no losers on this album, my favorites would have to be (After Amazing Grace) Leave It There, Washed in the Blood, It'll Get You Where You're Going, Gotta Go Back, and I See Him. Okay, so maybe all of the songs are my favorites :-)
Anyone who misses the true sound of country music and it's purity of sound would appreciate this album for its talent and the obvious feeling that goes into their music. That goes for all of their albums. There is just something about Joey's voice that grabs the listener and you just don't want to turn your ears away. Their harmonies together are also excellent and one never over sings the other. In fact, these two voices were meant to go together.
Give their music a listen and then do yourself a favor and get their albums. You will not be disappointed. If you are looking for the style of country music played on the radio these days...you will not find it here. There is nothing but true down to earth talent mixed with an obvious love and respect for their music and each other in their songs.
