I don't see what the fuss is about. It's an OK charger, but that's about it.

What i like: It's small, inexpensive, and solidly built.
What I don't like:
- It is not a fast charger, for phones that can handle that. My Galaxy S7 Edge does not indicate "Fast Charge" when plugged into this charger. When plugged into one with "Fast Charge" technology, it charges much more quickly. This is my fault for not reading the description more carefully.
- For some strange reason, the two sockets are oriented in the opposite direction. So, if a plug is plugged in to the top port, to move it into the bottom port you have to flip it 180 degrees first. Not a big deal unless you're fumbling to plug something in and the car is dark.

As another reviewer said, I'm going to keep it as it isn't worth the hassle of returning it for $10.00. But I think it's a solid 3-star product, not a 5-star.

I have purchased a number of car chargers for my microUSB devices which also had integrated USB ports so I could charge other items like Android phones, iPhones, etc at the same time. Some were too bulky, some had obtrusive wires, some had bright, annoying lights on them, etc.

That said, this is where I have ended my search. The cigarette lighter plug fits snugly, but not so much that you can't pull it out. The USB ports have a higher rated output than other car chargers with integrated USB ports, and after measuring them using various devices and their current draw, I can verify that both ports on this charger really do output at the listed capacity. And even appearance-wise, it looks sharp in white and light gray (but the material is smooth and doesn't retain dirt or grime), and even the blue USB indicator is sleek but not bright enough to be annoying.

My only regret with this purchase is that I didn't make it earlier, and that I went through so many other car chargers before I arrived at this one. If you're looking for a car charger that will get the job done, look good doing it, is a better value than the others on the marker, this is the one for you. Don't waste your time with ones with an integrated cord- it gives you less freedom than if you just have both USB ports open to use for whatever connection type you have. Just use your phone or device's factory cord and it will work perfectly.

It's OK but nothing special at all. Similar to the $5.00 chargers elsewhere that you probably have laying around in some drawer. Did not fast charge my phone at all. Only provides 5 volts and not the Samsung quickcharge 9 volts so it did not quick charge my Samsung. Even at 5 volts it did not provide anywhere near the 2.4 A that they claim and hence was very slow. I tested it with an ammeter and took a picture of the result.

Bought these for our boat and truck to replace some that we've had for awhile. These worked out great as they provide faster charge on both slots than the older models we had which were maximum output of 3.1 amps. Haven't had them long enough to tell if they will sustain long and repeated use but will update if they break within the next few months. The seller also reached out to us right away to make sure things were working well so hopefully that's a good sign that they will be responsive if anything goes wrong.

Pros: love the look and feel as well as the blue LED light.

Cons: stopped working after 3 months of just occasional use, maybe even earlier. (Am I not supposed to keep it plugged in?) Noticed the light was off, so unplugged and plugged it back in. It started working again, but when I plugged two chargers in at once with NO phone attached, it shut off. One charger plugged in allowed it to stay on for a moment, but it eventually shut back off.

Defective?

I love the blue light on the charger, but the charger stopped working within hours of first testing it out. I had purchased it for an upcoming road trip and we drove about 3 hours before it stopped working.

Purchased a number of car chargers over the years and have never had high expectations. Best one was a little red one we bought in a small convenience store on the big island for $1.79. We'll, this looks like it might be a keeper. A little hard to discern which USB slot is which, and they're both labeled kind of the same except for a little, tiny, minuscule decimal point. But I'm not sure it makes a difference because it says they adjust to what you plug in. So far so good. Why isn't there any confidence in any of these products?

I've included a few pictures because the look is slightly different than the advertised picture. Not much different and nothing to be concerned about. And the delivered product is slightly different than the diagram in the instruction booklet it comes with. I don't really see the unit lighting up blue inside. But there is a small blue light on the front above the top usb slot. See my pictures. And in the diagram in the pamphlet (which I also posted pictures of) included in the box it shows the blue dot on the side of the usb slots. It's actually on the top on my unit. And the two usb slots are labeled 2.4 and 2.0, but I could not see this with my naked eye. Maybe it was the lighting but I did not see these markings until I took pictures and posted them here. That's how faint the markings are printed.

Other than that the unit looks great, takes up minimal space (see my pics), and it charges quickly. It seems to be made well and sturdy. The ring around the outside that you grab to pull it out is made of a texturized rubber material making it feel nice. I'm very happy with the product. I just wanted to point out the differences in the unit sent and the unit shown - which are very minimal and probably make the unit better, not worse.

We need to charge an iPhone and an Android phone in the car. I tried attaching a USB hub to our single-port charger, but the iPhone would not charge at all through the hub. With this Maxboost 2-port charger, the iPhone will charge from the top port, and the Android will charge from either port. I had some trouble figuring out which way is "top" since obviously the charger rotates. I figured out I have to pull the charger out and look at where the word Maxboost is printed-- this is the top. A better design would be if they put an arrow or a word on the flat front where the ports are. This charger works fine to charge both phones at once, and the illuminated ports are helpful.

Wow! What can I say to summarize the effectiveness of the Maxboost Car Charger 2.4? This thing charges just about as fast as the wall charger! It takes up minimal space in my car and during an average commute of about 30 minutes to work, completely charges my phone. It also has a great LED light on it that gives off an lovely blue light at night so you can tell that it is working and charging. I have never had any trouble with overheating and it has accepted every USB cable I have used with it. The charger itself locks into place nicely in the charging port and I have had no problems with it popping out or not making a good connection. Also, the 2.4 amps charging has allowed me to charge both my tablet and my phone at the same time with speed and no overheating. I charge an iPhone and a “Fire” tablet usually at the same time with this charger. Overall I believe it to be a good buy! I am very happy with the purchase and actually now have purchased three of them for my family to use in their vehicles, so that itself is a vote of confidence for this product! So, there are hundreds of car chargers out there that can spin your head with specs and stats and I researched this one thoroughly before my purchase. It has lived up to all it claims and the company, Maxboost, represents itself truthfully and accurately about their claims on Amazon. So, buy with confidence and be happy in the knowledge that your devices will be fully charged with no problems while using this Maxboost charger!
