I am pleasantly surprised. The charging ports actually charge my phone. This was actually my second phone holder. The first one I bought did not fit properly into my cigarette lighter jack; thus, the charging ports did not work. I was really bummed, because I really like the length of the goose neck/snake along with the phone cradle. Nevertheless, since I really liked the concept of having easy access to my phone while driving as well as being able to provide extra charging ports for potential passengers along with my other devices, I went searching for another cigarette lighter jack phone holder with extra charging ports and came across this one. While I was skeptical of the phone cradle portion, it seemed better than some of the other holders/chargers I'd seen with simply two side wings, and I was right!! While I preferred the phone cradle from the first charger I bought, this one is at least sturdy and doesn't allow the phone to move as much when I press down on the home button on my iPhone 7. One thing I didn't like, but can live with for now is the length of the goose neck/snake portion. While it seems adequate for a driver in a car, for me in an SUV, I could have done with a little extra length. With a little extra length, it would make maneuvering the phone into portion a little easier. All in all it's a solid choice for a car cigarette lighter and charging port.
pros: - the charging ports actually work - the goose/snake neck is sturdy - the holder fits solidly into the cigarette lighter jack of my SUV - the the goose/snake neck is of decent length for a car
cons: - the goose/snake neck could stand to be a little longer to suit the needs of an SUV - the phone cradle should have have a height adjustment button on the outer side instead of inside - height adjustment button of the phone cradle feels cheaply made/poor design
