A commonly ignored MUST READ for the serious psychology graduate student interested in Anxiety disorder a la DSM

This text is truly a seminal work on Anxiety. A deliberate reading will project the advanced psychological scholar into the 21st century. For instance, G&M will demonstrate that the evidence of H.M. as amnesiac is better addressed by understanding the loss of her/his temporal lobes contributing to Hypermnesia , that is H.M. remembers too much and decays too little memory. Having taught psyc 101 for over a decade it is reassuring that a correct interpretation of the evidence is out there. That is to say, this text outlines how not to interpret symptomatic observations as outcom when ablation of hippocampus in human must be performed. For almost a century conventional wisdom suggests loss of the temporal lobe (i.e., hippocampus) destroys short-term memory. Here is the real evidence that it does not. So rare to find work that cuts through the falsehood of tradition in a manner that resembles discovery of the earth-as-round not flat.

This is a book that summarizes decades of neuroscience, mood, and anxiety research from the 50s all the way until today. It does not ignore findings and interpretations like some books do. MUST READ and it will change your perspective of the hippocampus and related defensive behavior structures.

Re growth and maybe not as a the same person. Inhabit a world that used to be much more dangerous. Create emotional sensitivity and a huge amount of research an the human condition and a play circuit that is not socially constructed. We have to live with love. Touch is something that helps prevent permanent Dysfunction. Continual play and motivation. A read that is immense and filled with things though out with details and fortune of the unknown.
