Amazon: This was to be shipped with my other order but it got shipped the same time as my other book/guide & packed
very well together, would of been better if all of the items ordered were shipped together/same place to save U money.
Glad I bought my items from Amazon, saved a bit on MSRP & free shipping "two thumbs up !"

Now to the book, this is much better than what I had thought or anticipated, the book gets 5 Stars IMO,
I like that they gave you bonus cards in the book for the characters, now I just need to get them done in laminate.,
plus to keep the cards in great condition, I hate to cheat and look at a guide til I'm fished w/the game, so I must wait to
play the game awhile and see what I've missed, the pages I scrolled through looks very well balanced & well made so far
and can't wait to read it from page to page, when my hands quit throbbing from playing so much & find what I've missed.

I'm from Italy and I bought this book from overseas since this kind of products don't have a chance to get overhere.
Mortal Kombat franchise is, of course, well known even here but the game is the only thing you'll find in stores.
Being a fan, and having a son who has become a very passionate one, I thought this guide could suit all our needs.
As usual, Prima gives you what you want: an excellent guide fully featured with Mortal Kombat history, bio of all the characters, and a awesome "reportage" with pictures of every move (including combos, tags and fatality) a character is able to perform.
The guide also features high quality cards depicting every fighter in the game with a brief description of his/her moves.
If you are a fan, don't miss this guide.

I bought this guide for three main reasons. 1. For the "massive" concept art section 2. Fatality gallery and warrior evolutions 3. For any kind of secrets/easter eggs/and anything else I could possibly miss.

The concept art section is not massive at all. They put all of the concept art in the back with the interviews, which I found to be bland and obtain nothing worth noting whatsoever. There is no fatality gallery or warrior evolution, so if you're buying for that reason, then DO NOT buy this guide. It is just not there and I was extremely disappointed when I flipped through the guide to not find it when I know it was advertised as a selling point for this book. There's a chart for the challenge tower but it isn't useful. There is also a list of all the items in the krypt, but that could easily be found online. No character frame data at all either. There is nothing in here at all regarding babalities, nothing about how to fight the secret fighters, and no tips or anything interesting for the story mode.

237 pages of this guide is all dedicated to screen shots of character moves, X-rays, and only one fatality. There is a little bio for each character ripped right from the game. There is a little match chart showing you how each character fares against the others. It isn't all that great really.

This guide is simply terrible. It does look good with the hardcover, nice pages, and slick presentation, but the content is not worthwhile. This book isn't helpful at all and gets old to flip through real quick due to the sea of screen shots. I bought it for the concept art and evolutions mainly, things that can't easily be found online. There is concept art in here, just not nearly enough to be called "massive." 20 or so pages of concept art is not massive, especially when they cheated and inserted the concept art into the interviews to save space.

Stay away from this guide. You will come across all that is included with this guide in the game on your own.

Been a fan of this video game series since the first release back in the 1990's. This book I purchased largely for the artwork and the artwork of the characters is just fabulous in the book. As a game guide never really used it in that format, but the feature that is great is it includes a set of cards for each of the characters that outlines all their moves and some of their combo's I believe. Been a while since I last looked at it, but like stated above I purchased it mainly as an artbook of the game itself.

ゲーム内の技表で確認出来る技＋コンボ例を画像付きの紹介がされています。１キャラ8p程ずつ
Fatalityもメイン一つのみ画像付きで、KRYPTで開放出来る2nd FatalityとStage Fatalityがコマンドのみ表記されています。
赤ちゃんに変えるBabalityは表記されていません。
コマンドの表記の仕方が、↑をUp、↓をDownなどと海外独特の表記になっています。慣れるまでは若干見にくいかもしれません。
※PS3版専用のゲストキャラ、クレイトス(GoW)他、通常のDISKで開放出来るサイバーサブ・ゼロ、クァン・チーまでの28キャラが紹介されています。
今後配信されるであろうDLCキャラやボス専用キャラの紹介はありません。

Warum nur zwei Sterne? Weil dieses Buch nicht das bietet, was es enthalten muss.

Positive Aspekte sind schnell abgehakt:
Es ist offensichtlich mit viel Liebe gemacht, es ist ein Hardcover mit viel Glanz und vielen Bildern, darin enthaltene Artikel über die Geschichte von Mortal Kombat sowie Interviews mit den Machern sind nett zu lesen.

Es enthält dann noch eingeschweißte Karten für jeden Charakter mit "all" seinen Moves und Kombos darauf, was einerseits ein ganz netter Touch ist, andererseits aber vollkommen unnötig, da alle Moves auch direkt im Spiel im Pause-Menü angezeigt werden können und man egal wo man gerade etwas nachschauen will oder muss, sowieso eine Pause einlegen muss.

Und nun zum Grund für den gnadenlosen Absturz dieses Produktes in die "auf keinen Fall kaufen" Kategorie:
Wenn ich mir einen Game Guide oder, wie im Deutschen noch viel deutlicher, eine KOMPLETTlösung zu einem Spiel besorge, dann erscheint es mir die normalste Erwartung der Welt zu sein, dass dieses Schriftstück einem alles über das Spiel erzählt, eben "komplett" ist.

In diesem Buch findet man zwar die genaue Beschreibung aller in der Krypta zu findenden freischaltbaren Objekte sowie alle Kombat Codes für den Zwei-Spieler Modus, was aber nicht darin steht ist, dass sie einem ein gutes Viertel aller Finishing Moves vorenthalten.

Die Gesamtheit aller Babality Moves wird in diesem Buch mit keinem Strich erwähnt, ebensowenig wie die Classic Fatality Moves bestimmter Charaktere, für die man wiederum DLC Updates benötigt.
Man kommt nur darauf, dass einem etwas abgeht, wenn man bei manchen Charakteren die angebotenen Finishing Moves alle ausgeführt hat und dann sieht, dass noch einer nicht angezeigt wird (die Classic Fatalities werden als Reihe von Fragezeichen in der Moves List angezeigt - auf die Existenz der Babalities gibt das Spiel einem keinerlei Hinweis).

Ich denke, jeder, der gerne Mortal Kombat spielt und vielleicht nicht gerade 10000 Stunden Zeit hat, um alle möglichen Kombinationen durch zu testen, um die Moves für alle Charaktere heraus zu finden, wird mir zustimmen, dass ein Mortal Kombat "Game Guide" in dem nicht alle Finishing Moves gelistet sind, eindeutig in die Kategorie "nutzlos" einzuordnen ist.
