Kami Garcia, one half of the Deviant Duo!!!! I can not believe my eyes! This book came nicely wrapped in plastic, with nothing wrong with it at all. I put it on my bookshelf without really looking at it and didn’t realize that she SIGNED THE BOOK! I can’t wait to devour it just like I devoured the beautiful/dangerous creatures series! And I’m so so excited to read this. But wow. A signed copy! One day it’ll be worth bajillions, and I’ll never ever sell it. You’ll have to pry it from my cold dead fingers! Thank you Kami Garcia. This small act of kindness in my traumatic life was a blessing. Oh man this story sucked me in big time. Kennedy lives with her mom and her cat Elvis. Shes your normal teenage girl except for the fact she his Eidetic memory. How awesome is that. I wish I had that super power! That and the mind control I would be unstoppable. Oh im getting off track again. So yeah her dad left years ago he wrote a note and never came back. As a result Kennedy has abandonment issues she doesn’t let many people in, she fears if she does they will leave her at all her father did.

On night Elvis runs out the house and Kennedy must follow him to a graveyard where she meets a girl who isnt really a girl but a ghost. Weird things start to happen after that. And then the unthinkable happens her mother dies. They say it was a heart failure and for a while Kennedy believes it. Though on her last night in the house something comes after her and shes saved by Dean and Sam… I mean Jared and Lukas. I say Dean and Sam because you cant help but think Supernatural when reading this.. Its inevitable the conclusion will be drawn the comparison will be made you catch me? They shoot the poltergeist with salt bullets. And they leave together. Slowly they begin to tell her what that was and who they are. Who she is. They are apart of the legion and as much as I want to explain it to you the book will do a much better job.

They convince Kennedy she is one of them, there are 5 total. So theres Jared and Lukas, Kennedy, Alara and Priest. They each have special talents handed down to them from the original Legion. They must fight together to bring down a serious demon and obviously the demon has other plans for them. The missions the kids went on where creepy and one night. The first night I read it I had to stop cause I was freaking myself out. Again im the biggest wussy whoever lived.

SO lets talk love triangle because what would a YA novel be without one. Theres a thing between Kennedy and the twins Jared and Lukas. I kinda felt bad for Alara watching these guys fawn over Kennedy. Id probably be a bitter girl with all that non sense. Maybe she will end up with a cast off. Oh so something super cool. When someone from the Legion does something heroic or defeats a demon they earn their tattoo. But for some reason despite doing some badass things Kennedy has yet to receive her tattoo. I have theories! But I feel if I share them I will be throwing spoilers and as much as id love to be the spoiler Id really hate to be the spoiler girl. So my lips are sealed.

This novel is so fast paced and amazing! The lore was well thought out and written. The characters were real fun to read. I hated myself everyone I had to put it down. Towards the end I totally and rudely ignored anyone who dared speak to me. In my defense they totally deserved it because the ending is JAW DROPPING! I finished this book shocked and well satisfied. I will be started Unmarked ASAP! I bow to you Kami Garcia.

OMG, that was one hell of an adventure! I loved everything about this book! Phew...My mind is still racing with all of the awesomeness that Kami Garcia has brought to the Supernatural book world!

This is the perfect spine-chilling, heart-pounding, ghost hunting, action-packed Paranormal book to read around October. Because let me tell you, there was more then a couple parts that I caught myself sliding further and further under the sheets! Yeah, this book definitely put the scare into me!

I have never read anything from this author so I really didn't know what to expect from her. But I found myself easily falling into this authors writing, and the plot took off after that. I loved her descriptive writing in Unbreakable. There was a lot of pictures and objects that were crucial to the setting, and if the author didn't deliver it the right way, it would just fall apart. But Mrs. Garcia painted such vivid scenes that I literally could picture every description to the T.

    The Plot

Have you ever thought you heard whispers, or seen something move that wasn't suppose too, or just felt you weren't alone, when you really were? Well this is the world Kennedy Waters lives in, but all them things are real, and something is watching, waiting, and ready to strike.

Kennedy and four other teenagers are descendants of a group called The Legion. Its made up of a 5 person ghost hunter organization to keep the spirits, dybbuk, demons, and other crazy supernatural being that are not suppose to exist at bay, and eliminate them.

But for Kennedy Waters, she has always lived a fairly normal life, until one day her mother dies of a strange heart attack. After that Kennedy is almost killed by a vengeance spirit! Then she must face the truth, Ghost really do exist!

As Kennedy is pulled into the supernatural world that she never knew exist, she is told she is a descendent of the Legion, and bound by her birthright to take her mothers place in the Legion, to eliminate the vengeance spirits from earth! But Kennedy can't wrap her head around all of this fast enough to understand what's going on around her, as spirits are coming at them full force, trying to eliminated The Legion for good! And to make matters worse, their two hot twins that are both catching Kennedy's eye!

If Kennedy ever wants to be safe of these vengeance spirits that are hunting her and trying to kill her every chance they get, then she's going to have to fight back, or at least die trying!

When I was done reading this book, I was already looking up the next book's release date. I just wanted to jump back into this series and devour Kami Garcia's world she created in Unbreakable.

I will be reading more from this author and look forward to continuing this series. She has a great imagination that will keep me entertained to hours!

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfekte Unterhaltung für zwischendurch! :)
Reviewed in Germany on October 23, 2013

2.0 out of 5 stars « Un roman sans goût ni intérêt, une déception. C'est dommage. »
Reviewed in France on October 18, 2013
Tous m'a semblé TELLEMENT superficiel. Mouais, on repassera.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected but ended up loving

Where do I start with this book? I didn’t love it as I expected I would but at the same time I didn’t hate it

The book itself was a really fast read that was split into three parts, I won’t go into to much detail as I feel that this could spoil the book for those that haven’t read it yet. I will say this the last part of the book let it down for me and I feel that it should have ended or played out differently.

I didn’t connect at all to Sophie and I think this hindered my appreciation of the book, although I did like some of her character traits I felt that I didn’t get along with her, that is a hard thing to say when you are witnessing the events through her eyes. I just didn’t really like her, I thought some of her reasoning was off and she relied to much on others and she wasn’t open to new ideas. Quite frankly she was quite a boring character, she didn’t do much, she over annualized everything and was rather selfish at times. I did feel for her as we got to know more of her story but it didn’t change my opinions on her.

I did however really enjoy Billy, I loved his charm and personality he seemed to really have a way with people and although he did act too perfect I wasn’t that bothered. I’d love a boyfriend like Billy, it was interesting to read about what happens at movie shoots and awards shows. The other character that I loved was Molly, she put everything into perspective and I would be happy to know she always had my back if something wasn’t going right.

I did enjoy the book and feel that had the main character been more likeable I would of rated it more highly. I feel that it was a decent debut and I will continue to read more from the author, I actually have her new book sitting here next to me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't believe in ghost but this book makes them real

Kennedy is such a relatable character. From the time you find her in a graveyard trying to catch her cat, meeting a ghost and then finding her mother dead you relate to everything she says and does. Then her entire world is turned upside down as what killed her mother tried to kill her but she's saved by two boys - twins - who break into her house and kill the ghost. If thats not enough to draw you in I dont know what is.

They take her with them to meet the rest of the gang and so the Legion is born. The twins - Jared and Lukas - believe she is the missing member of the group as all of the previous members have mysteriously died all on the same night as Kennedy's mother. Needless to say it's a pretty good assumption.

Through ghost hunting and riddle solving to some intimate moments this book definitely knows how to tell a ghost story and I loved it.
