Arrived on time, no visible damage. Missing only paper cover which I don't need.

Great read. I like this topical area, i.e. I enjoy learning about the 'deep state' argument. Explains how good intentions can morph in time into forces that we need to monitor, manage & throttle back. Makes a strong anecdotal case that the great American experiment may have been subverted by well-meaning autocrats and some self-serving oligarchs. The good news is, the America envisioned by our forefathers is still waiting to be discovered.

people who never usually read non fiction books would like this book-it's written like a thriller.

for the serious reader this book is a no go.
the author is not interested to give an understanding of the C.I.A. for it seems in the book-that this organization just does things on it's own because it's the C.I.A.
there is no real picture coming from this narrative that would explain who the .C.I.A. is...
...only details pop up of connections and criminal secret operations.
according to the book the C.I.A. can do what they want in the U.S. and the third world.
by giving the correct story of this agency-normally an understanding not only of this agencies present actions but of it's history will solve the C.I.A. mystery.
this is absent from the book as it gives only information. this information won't give a past account to solve who the C.I.A. really is.

police investigations at least theoretical have directives.

    THE INVESTIGATOR ASKS:

THE WHO...WHO IS THE C.I.A.? WHO ARE IT'S PEOPLE WHO RUN IT?

and THE WHY=MOTIVE...WHY IS THE C.I.A. DOING THIS?

BOTH QUESTIONS WILL LEAD TO AN UNDERSTANDING OF WHO AND WHY THE C.I.A. is doing what they do. mystery solved ! ! :

this book never asked or goes for any kind of question that could even remotely give a hint-of what the agency is about.
the only thing the person reading the book finds out is: - the C.I.A. is a powerful, secret and criminal organization.

to know who the C.I.A. really is - read:

THE WORLD ORDER - by eustace mullins.

Those interested in politics, its an awesome read for them. Though I would still caution that one should start believing in all other conspiracy theories out there about the US intervention in other governments.
