- Reviewed in the United States on January 20, 2022The book makes it clear the human race is under Mass Hypnosis, think and do as we are told. We are all the semi- living and breathing soon to be Soilent Green GMO eating Idiots....
- Reviewed in the United States on April 25, 2021You won't find the information in this book discussed in the mainstream media. It'll broaden your perspective and perhaps change your worldview. I imagine someday sooner than later these types of books may be disappeared from public access. Censorship seems to be blatantly more active these days.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 24, 2023This book offers a frightening peek into one aspect of what the CIA has been doing and hiding from us since its inception. It should alarm anyone who values freedom and democracy and may explain some of the things going on in this nation today. I took off 1 star due to the inconsistent quality of the printing.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 27, 2016A groundbreaking book in the field of mind control that was prophetic and is still relevant. Bowart addresses facets of the story that John Marks either missed or disregarded in "Search for the Manchurian Candidate". I would give Bowart the edge, since Bowart's conclusions about MK Ultra's success have proven to be much more accurate than John Marks'.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2013Not the book, the fact that very few people seem to realize what is going on blows my mind. This book confirms a lot of what I've believed for years. I was in a cult called The Elan School, which practiced behavior modification in the most horrible, violent and twisted way, and that got me interested in mind control because they did it with the blessing of the stae of Maine and the federal government. To this day, no one will say that what happened to us was abuse. Google "Elan School atrocities" and you'll be awestruck by howw bad it was.
I believe Doctor Gerald Davidson was working for or was a member of the CIA. I also believe that the records MKULTRA destroyed had tons of data on Elan and programs like it. I can't prove any of that, but if we can throw people in the gas chamber based on circumstantail evidence, we can use it to ask questions and investigate them.
What can be done? Is my question. This entire country seems to walk around in a trance. They support legislation that hurts them and our country. Is it too late?
I started by kicking the TV set to the curb. I've sought help for what Elan did to me through Rick Ross, Paul Morantz and Phillip Zimbardo, the Hip Hero, (zero, is more like it) and no one seems to know what to do.
I stay off the grid and keep to myself and can't wait to die so I can get away from the new world order. This country doesn't remotely resemble the America I grew up in. The future looks pretty dim

- Reviewed in the United States on April 19, 2008The author of Operation Mind Control, Walter H. Bowart, died on December 18, 2007, according to his obituary in The New York Times and the reference page at Wikipedia.
In 1978, while living in New Hampshire, I had the opportunity of hearing a local radio interview with Bowart concerning his book. I immediately went out and purchased a copy at the cover price of one dollar and ninety-five cents.
Government censorship of the book has created a scarcity of available copies and has skyrocketed the market selling price.
Everything the other reviewers at Amazon have alluded to regarding its supression by the government is true, for Operation Mind Control is indeed a mind blower. The State could not permit anyone to disclose such damaging information.
The secrets revealed in this book openly describe a clandestine government at war with its own people, covert forces which Bowart describes as "the cryptocracy."
This is precisely the kind of dangerous information that governments fear.
Operation Mind Control is not conspiracy theory.
It is documented fact.
Governments live by lies, by bamboozling and hiding the truth from their subjects.
Accordingly, the primary task of opponents of modern tyranny, as libertarian Murray N. Rothbard pointed out, is an educational one: to awaken the public to this manipulation and propaganda, by demystifying and desanctifying the state apparatus upon which such lies are built upon.
Walter Bowart heroically accomplished this feat.
Operation Mind Control spoke truth to power as few books published in the past thirty years have done.
That is why the government tried to destroy it.
Years ago I had the opportunity to discuss these matters with John Marks, the brilliant author of The Search For The Manchurian Candidate: The CIA and Mind Control. Marks' volume somehow escaped the government's relentless campaign waged upon its predecessor.
I highly recommend his book in addition to Operation Mind Control.
Two excellent documentaries tell the sordid and shocking story discussed in these books. They are, Mind Control: America's Secret War, and Bad Trip To Edgewood. Both are available online for viewing.

Liam RobertsReviewed in the United Kingdom on May 25, 20175.0 out of 5 stars Stunning, shocking, and still relevant
Assumably if you're looking at this book then mind control is not a new subject to you... this is essential reading for anyone interested in the history of mind control, how it has been developed and used and who has been behind the research.
The book tackles some tough subjects very well and is written in a way which is easy to read and understand. I strongly recommend getting the updated version as it is more than twice the length of the original and comes with years more detailed research and evidence to expand on the first edition.
No matter how much you think you know about mind control this book will open your mind even further.
