I have a question for you to answer... Who, during Yeshua's ministry, had their Eschatology (End Times) correct? Can you name one person? Jesus
Ok, now can you name one person today who has their Eschatology correct? Does anyone dare say, 'I do', stay away from that person. We are all doing our best to understand the entire Bible and all the prophesies related to his first and second Comings (Parousia).
The only One who has it all correct is Yeshua himself, and only those who understand His perfect Words without preconceived bias or doctrines. Thus, the only thing that will stand in the end is The Word, it is true, and let all men be found lesser.
Therefore, there is no scripture, not one, that teaches a Pre-Trib Rapture! The Rapture is only one part of the Resurrection, even more specifically the First Resurrection of Revelation 20:4-6, this is the Glory to be brought to us at the Revelation of Messiah Jeshua. Beginning with the End in Mind will keep you on track with this most important book that answers most of the questions and concerns you may have as you move away from your 'What We Teach' doctrinal statement of your Partially Reformed Catholic Church body, that ignores the 4th Commandment, that you most likely now attend, to becoming 'the Remnant' of the House of Yisrael into which you have been grafted into, as you obey the Commandments of God (all 11 of them; 10 old, 1 new) and hold to the testimony of Yeshua.
As a new believer in Yeshua one is dependent upon a Pastor or another more mature Disciple to assist us in learning YHVH's perfect inerrant Word. Most of us all agree that Yeshua, in His first Coming to Earth, was the Messiah and that His death, burial, and Resurrection are the cornerstones to our faith, but most are not taught that He perfectly fulfilled the Spring Feasts of the Lord in this way. He is the Passover Lamb of Israel (the chosen people of God, the circumcised in heart), He is the Unleavened Bread without sin, and He is our Resurrected High Priest as the First Fruits of the Resurrection on the Feast of First Fruits, and furthermore that He sent His Spirit of Holiness upon the Disciples as the fulfillment of the Feast of Pentecost. Does that mean that now that they are fulfilled or accomplished and that we should forget them, no; they were the dress rehearsals for the Messiah's coming, they are the timing devices of YHVH's calendar, and even Yeshua enhanced the Passover Celebration with his personalizing it with the Communion Celebration right at the 3rd Cup of Redemption; with it symbolizing his blood shed for us, and the Afikomen/Unleavened bread broken for us regarding his body, doing this,,, Passover... in remembrance of Him. The Passover Remembrance is the key to understanding the communion remembrance he instructed us to observe. Remember it was the Passover meal that all points to Him, the Holy Scriptures speak of Him, it is all Revelation, looking back and forward.
All that to say this, if you want to see the scripture come alive so that you have a really good understanding, from scripture only, of... what is the Rapture? when does it happen? and why does it happen? as told by the Messiah himself, in His own words(!) then you need to digest this book and not look back to your old ways; move forward unto the Glorious Appearing (Parousia) of our Great God and Savior, Yeshua. To God be the Glory for the things He has already done, before the foundations of the World. And may your name be written in His Book of Life. Shalom and Love to you, Ken Laumann
P.S. Great job Michael, this is the best book on the Rapture I have seen or read. Thank you, even so come Lord Jesus!
With great clarity and humility, drawing upon solid and voluminous scriptural support, Mr. Snyder’s Rapture Verdict posits what appears to be a virtually unassailable view; namely, that the last generation of believers will enter into Daniel’s 70th week, encounter the Anti-Christ and endure the Great Tribulation prophesied long ago in the Book of Revelation.
As a student of “eschatology” for more than 25 years, a period which included attendance at a seminary which generally espouses the pre- tribulation rapture position; I am convicted to say that the Word of God does not teach a pre-tribulation rapture. I neither say this with any sense of arrogance or joy, nor with dubious or mixed motives nor with ill intent and certainly with no desire to be divisive. I never fully understand why the sequence of events surrounding Daniel's 70th week, and specifically the timing of the Rapture, is cause for such emotionalism and division in the church. On the other hand, if the position espoused in the Rapture Verdict; namely, that the last generation of believers will enter Daniel's 70 week and live through the period of "Great Tribulation" spoken of in the Bible, then surely each one of us should explore the Scripture for ourselves and make our own determination. It seems counter intuitive given the enormity of the practical and spiritual consequences surrounding this issue to simply believe something someone else has taught without at least being open to being further instructed in further truth. The Bible clearly warns against those of us who study but are "always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth." II Tim 3:7
Michael has taken a step of faith in “rightly handling the word of truth.” We would all do well to be open minded one last time as we rush increasing neared the end of our age and the parousia of our Lord. In fact, we will all give account to the Lord. "So then each of us will give an account of himself to God." Rom. 14:12.
A careful reading of the Rapture Verdict will, in my view, convince many that Mr. Snyder has directly and by inference, "proved" the "truth" of the following aspects and sequence of events concerning the Rapture of the church:
• The Rapture is directly linked with the “Day of the Lord.” In fact, the Rapture inaugurates the Day of the Lord (a tenant held by virtually all literalists of eschatology, including those adhering to the classic pre-tribulation position). 1 Thess 4:13-1 Thess 5:11; 2 Thess 2.
• The Day of the Lord Immediately FOLLOWS the Great Tribulation. Matthew 24:29.
• The Lord Himself brings the Great Tribulation to a close in order to preserve the life of those whom will be raptured. “If those days [of Great Tribulation] had not been cut short, no flesh [believers, in context] would survive, but for the sake of the "elect" those days will be shortened.” Mt 24:22
• The NT term “elect” never, ever refers to ONLY a PORTION of living believers. It either refers to those believers of past and present (and those to come) or, as here, in Mt 24:22, comprises ALL THEN living believers. Accordingly, there is no exegetical reason to conclude, as pre-tribs must, that the term "elect" in Mt 24:22 comprises ONLY those believers who enter into Daniel’s 70th week as “unbelievers;” and then SUBSEQUENTLY become saved ONLY some time AFTER the commencement of that week. Rather, the NT term “elect,” always, always, always refers to the body of believers—the “church”—i.e. all believers (in this context; all believers alive at the commencement of Daniel’s 70th week). In other words, the term “elect” in Matthew 24:22 comprises all believers who are alive preceding the commencement of Daniel’s 70th week, who enter Daniel’s 70th week and who endure through “tribulation.”
• The Day of the Lord Is Preceded by Two Events
o The apostasy
o The man of sin revealed:
“Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us—whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter—asserting that the day of the Lord has already come. Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs [THE APOSTASY] and the man of lawlessness[a] is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God. II Thess. 2:1-3.
• [Inescapable] Conclusions from the Rapture Verdict:
o “Imminence” as used understood by those who adhere to a classic pre-tribulation position means that the Rapture (1) can occur “at any moment,” (2) is signless, and (3) is not preceded by any prophesied events.
o the Rapture Verdict clearly demonstrates that "imminence" is NOT taught by the Bible. In fact, as Mr. Snyder rightly notes, even the most ardent proponents of the pre-tribulation view concede that no verse of scripture explicitly teaches that believers will be Raptured prior to the commencement of Daniel's 70th week; an astonishing admission that surely deserves examination in light of what appears to be "explicit" teaching discussed in the Rapture Verdict.
If I were called upon to render a "verdict" on the evidence presented by the pre-tribulation position and that presented in the Rapture Verdict, I would have to cast might vote in favor of the latter. I believe that the Rapture Verdict contains scriptural evidence "beyond a reasonable doubt" to establish the truth that the last generation of believers will indeed live through the period of time the Bible describes as the "Great Tribulation."
Thank you Mr. Snyder for being willing to take a step of faith and for doing your best "to rightly handle the truth."
I pray that your readers come to the Rapture Verdict with open hearts and open minds and without a sense of judgment or a desire to see a resultant disunity of the Holy Spirit. I truly believe that those who discern the truth presented in your work will carry the following description bestowed by the Lord Himself upon those living in the end of days: “Those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.” Daniel 12:3.
From one who has been convinced!
