NEALE DONALD WALSCH is a modern day spiritual messenger whose words continue to touch the world in profound ways. With an early interest in religion and a deeply felt connection to spirituality, Neale spent the majority of his life thriving professionally, yet searching for spiritual meaning before experiencing his now famous conversation with God. The "Conversations with God" series of books that emerged from those encounters has been translated into 37 languages, touching millions and inspiring important changes in their day-to-day lives.

"Conversations with God" has redefined God and shifted spiritual paradigms around the globe. In order to deal with the enormous response to his writings, Neale has created several outreach projects, including the CWG Foundation, CWG for Parents, Humanity’s Team, the CWG Helping Outreach, and The Global Conversation --- all accessible at the “hub” website CWGPortal.com, and all dedicated to help the world move from violence to peace, from confusion to clarity, and from anger to love.

Neale's work has taken him from the steps of Macchu Picchu in Peru to the steps of the Shinto shrines of Japan, from Red Square in Moscow to St. Peters Square in Vatican City to Tiananmen Square in China. And everywhere he has gone --- from South Africa to Norway, Croatia to The Netherlands, the streets of Zurich to the streets of Seoul --- Neale has experienced a hunger among the people to find a new way to live, at last, in peace and harmony, and he has sought to bring people a new understanding of life and of God which would allow them to experience that.

He lives with his wife, the American poet Em Claire, in Oregon. Find out more at NealeDonaldWalsch.com.

I came across the Chinese translation of book one and two in my local library; I finished the books in a week and went on to buy the whole English series. Now my sister and nephew are fighting to see who got to read the books first. I just finished book three and have the following suggestions for people who are interested in the series:

    1. First of all, don't mind whether the conversation actually took place in our collective reality or not (or in Neale's own). Focus on the messages instead of the speaker. According to God, we are all God, or part of God. So technical speaking, talking to yourself qualifies as talking to God. The messages in the series are all positive and I don't see a single negativity in it.

    2. You have to be open-minded. This is one attribute of an evolving-being (EB). Read it like a science fiction (actually this is a very good and well-written SF) and you will walk away with more. Put aside your religious teaching and life-long experience; just listen/read first and judge later.

    3. God says, "Don't take these messages more than they are and don't take them less then they are". Personally, I don't agree with a lot of the "messages" in the series but I took the one that I believe in and one that works for me. Like everything else, you cannot take things for granted. God gives everyone of us the ultimate choice of creating/re-creating our own experience. We are our makers!

    4. There are a lot of reverse psychology here in the book, like "be there instead of get there" , "give instead of acquire", etc. When you really think through them, they contain deep wisdom. Yes, these words had been said before in different ways but not as clear and simple as been related in this book. I guess messages get across better in a conversation (peer-to-peer) than from an authority. No body likes to take order which itself is a divine order.

    5. This is my message - the free will and free choice mentalities are for highly evolved being (EVB) only. They are not for criminals or psychopaths.

All in all, this series is highly recommended. I am sure everyone could learn or re-learn something from it.

People will appreciate this book, or not, based on their personal readiness to open themselves to real Truth (not necessarily their personal "truth" at the time, but real "Truth"). With an open heart and mind, one can use the information in this book to change their lives infinitely for the better. Whenever I reach the end of one of the books in the CwG series, I feel an overwhelming sense of liberation and Divine Love. It challenges conventional "wisdom" in a wonderful way! I very much appreciate the way God's sense of humor is expressed in this book and series, also. I'm not knocking the Bible in any way, but this book is so much more enlightening and refreshing and invigorating. The incontrovertible Truth contained in all these books resonated on a soul level with me, which is more than I can say for all the years I spent in church and Bible study. Read and enjoy (if you're ready)!

EDIT 05/22/12 (six years later): And so it remains true that if I had to pick one book out of the hundreds if not thousands I have read that most changed my life, it would still be Conversations with God. I read this book for the first time during a very difficult, tumultuous period of my life. It changed my course so dramatically that it cannot be overstated. Nearly seven years later, I'm the happiest I've ever been. All my dreams have come true, and are coming true, and I'm dreaming up new dreams, ever expanding the Greatest Version of the Grandest Vision I ever held about Life. GOD BLESS NEALE DONALD WALSCH for bringing the world such a beautiful, powerful message of love and hope and truth.

I have read all three of the books in this series and each is absolutely wonderful. Full of wisdom. Makes you see and think about things that are important to living the life you want to live. I read a lot of books, and this set of three is one of my favorites!

Given the world in which we live and the stories we have told ourselves endlessly about this world, it is hardly surprising that some people have found it so challenging to embrace and implement the messages found in the Book 3 of the Conversations with God series. As you read this book you may find that life as we are living it is counter to all of our best intentions. Life truly ebbs and flows, thus the tide of events may sometimes seem to run counter to the way we deeply want to believe that Ultimate Reality is, so this book gives us clues as to how to change our world "for the better".
Today, the horror stories we have convinced ourselves about love do not ring true in our heart and what we have told ourselves about the God of our fathers feels deeply uncomfortable in our soul.
This book touches all the hot button issues of our day, including abortion, assisted suicide, auras, chakras, death, dis-ease, fear, heaven, hell, love, sex, souls and Who We Really Are and who we dream of becoming.
Reading this book will give you an opportunity to think again and possibly make some new decisions and create new realities as you learn more, in Conversations With God: An Uncommon Dialog, Vol. 3, about Donald Neale Walsch's dream of a New Spirituality.

i bought this book to help improve my spiritual insights, i am already interested in daoism and found some of lao tsu's/buddist type philosophies sprinkled in there and other works too. my friend raved over this book for ages. but for me the dialogue is like reading a play scipt, he speaks to god then god replies, personaly i found that irritating and it put me off, perhaps i will go back to it again. it did help with one thing though i realised what i ACTUALLY needed was my own conversations with god and not to read about them.
