Update: My toddler is OBSESSED with this book. She loves to find the kitty and puppy on the pages, and pretends to munch the apples off the page. This is one of the few board books that I don't get tired of reading over and over again.

Yes, there are some Americanisms in the book like $ in the illustrations when she is at the farmers market, and apple cider referring to the non-alcoholic kind you get in the US but I think that just adds to the educational value. I think children's books are a great chance to teach you child about the world not just their back garden, famers markets are not as common here so I think conceptually it makes sense. It's also nice to see an enterprising female farmer, rather than the very stereotypical farmer images you get in books that seem to provoke little imagination or discussion.
I've read reviews that in some versions you get the recipes for her food too, sadly this was not the case with our copy, but we'll have a go anyway I think!
