Be advice, this book will present you with many positions that are going to be clearly against your current position and at some point you might get mad at it but it is like an inoculation against a sickness that hurts a little but the rewards are invaluable.

This book is what its title says it's supposed to be about and that is s-e-x with a REAL LOOK into what drives religions into controlling women (and men too) on the subject of sex. Only an unhealthy, obsessively controlling business that teaches its members about the big sky daddy (male dominated monotheism) having complete control over what YOU do in your bedroom could possibly come up with this! A wonderful second book to the author's first in this area, "The God Virus: How Religion Infects Our Lives and Culture" and just as frightening when seen with a completely unjaded and wide-eyed look into what is actually happening with this religious control. The BIG FIVE: Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism & Buddhism are all raging winners of the most controlling religions around the world and just look at the number of followers! The author brings up more remote groups of people who lived a life virtually free of religious control and the outcome was beautiful - read the book to find out about them, then compare it to what you see around you, astonishing! A personal note, we came from a long, long line of descendants from millions of years ago and this was before the brick and mortar to technologically advanced society we live in today. We're here, alive and kicking, and there's a reason for it! A must read (all the way through) for all!

Do you ever get tired of the same old guilt trip every time you go to church? You know, you're a sinner, you always will be a sinner and without Jesus in your life you're just a loser. Do all those old sermons make you feel worse than when you went in? Are you daydreaming about the attractive woman or man sitting over in the next pew while that dried up dude in a silly costume is just talking repetitive monotone nonsense? Are psychosexual issues flopping around in your head like a dying carp on a beautiful white sandy beach with palm trees, beautiful fragrant flowers everywhere and crystal clear warm water rhythmically licking your feet?

Well, not to worry. All you need is a double dose of Dr. Darrel Ray to get your mind right. All you have to do is relax, let go of all the indoctrination you've been dealt your whole life and question whether everything you've been taught just may not be true. Possibly that attractive other person is sitting there daydreaming about YOU! Just imagine the possibilities. Or are you afraid you may end up in hell? Forget that, there is no hell except the one you're living in right now.

Read Dr. Darrel Ray's two books, " The God Virus" and "Sex and God" and just roll with what the man has to say. He exposes the religious perversion fabricated by hucksters used as leverage on your mind and wallet. Don't throw anymore money into another collection plate, spend some of your hard earned dollars on both of Dr. Ray's books and the confusion will evaporate off the top of your head as if you just stepped out of a comforting pool on a sunny day. Ignore all the liars who are in it for the money and go with a double dose of Dr. Darrel Ray. Try it, you'll like it.

This book is excellent in so many ways. It certainly delivers on the claim of its title. The chapter on the biology of sex is absolutely fascinating, where I learned many things that I had no idea about until reading this book. It has stimulated my curiosity to want to learn more about sexuality including human sexuality so I can hopefully develop my own better informed positions on the controversial sexual issues of our day.

I grew up Catholic and non-denominational. I was given very incomplete sexual information and believe that the depression and suicidal ideations I've struggled with are tied to my suppression of my sex drive. Not sure whether or not to embrace ideas about polyamory and homosexuality in this book as science or not; but this book did dispel many myths and helped me to see that I need healthy ways of attaching to keep my marriage healthy.
