A relief from the propaganda of the “War on Terror”

This is an eye-opening collection of essays questioning the entire premise of the “War on Terror,” which is essentially a replacement for the Cold War and the old Great Power games, and a justification for never-ending warfare, militarism, control of natural resources, and social/psychological manipulation of the world’s population. The hypocrisy of many Western nations is discussed here in their championing of free speech for anti-Islamic cartoonists, while many of those same countries (France, Germany and others) are imprisoning Holocaust revisionists and banning their books. Other essays focus on the concept of false flags, Gladio and the use of 9/11-style attacks to force a fundamental paradigm shift in the public mind – making them accept the concept of an endless “Clash of Civilizations” through the use of “New Pearl Harbors.”

As convicted Gladio operative Vincenzo Vinciguerra admitted: ‘You had to attack civilians, the people, women, children, innocent people, unknown people far removed from any political game. The reason was quite simple. They were supposed to force these people, the Italian public, to turn to the state to ask for greater security. This is the political logic that lies behind all the massacres and the bombings which remain unpunished, because the state cannot convict itself or declare itself responsible for what happened.”

This is an important book. It puts down on paper, not on mere electronic format, some excellent reportage and thinking about the Charlie Hebdo event, something that clearly appears to many, myself included, to be a "false flag" operation. There are some very interesting insights into the relationship between Islam and the West in some of the essays in this book, as well. One caution, though, is that Professor Barrett, as great a researcher as he is, does appear to have a blind spot regarding the settling of his own country and with the settling of South Africa. Especially in the case of South Africa, he has it wrong. The Boers were escaping Europe, and the reason so many blacks were drawn to South Africa was because it was a prosperous country. Professor Barrett should become familiar with the truth about South Africa and not fall for the lies. Same goes with the truth about the United States. Another thing, I hope Professor Barrett converts to Christianity because it is the true way.

This book is very well prepared. I really enjoy the approach Barrett took in editing it. He gathered folks whose ideas and perspectives are
divergent and they each approach the subject from a different angle.
I enjoy the citations--easy to use format. I like the additional glossary of 'suspects' at the end.
The depth of knowledge and history shared by the authors is great. My book margins are filled with notes.
What also is so striking to me is the love, compassion, and desire for peace that the contributors share.
This is a book for folks who love peace and justice.
Of course there are some authors who I disagree with: that is part of the strength of this book. We as peace activists may find points of
departure--but we agree on transparency, truth-telling, and nonviolence.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who has questions about Charile Hebdo.
Press forward, you lovers of truth and justice!

Kevin Barrett, son of the Olympic medallist Peter Jones Barrett, is an American Islamologist (Ph.D, University of Wisconsin) who was fired from his job as Lecturer in Islamic Studies in 2006 for publicly endorsing the work of the eminent theologian David Ray Griffin questioning the Bush administration's role in the events of 9/11/2001. Barrett became widely known for his public sparring with Fox news anchor Bill O' Reilly on prime-time TV. O'Reilly called Barrett 'irresponsible' but Barrett has since been joined by a legion of respected academics, retired government officials, high ranking military officers, intelligence professionals, architects and engineers who have gradually dismantled and exposed the official narrative of the day's events (as codified in the 9/11 Commission Report) as a colossal fraud.

Barrett's no-nonsense 'firebrand' approach has led to him being considered 'too-hot-to-handle' by US academia leading him to pursue a career in a perhaps more fitting role as muckraking independent journalist and commentator penning articles for Veteran's Today and appearing as a regular pundit on Press TV and Russia Today while hosting a weekly radio programme on the No Lies Radio network.

Prior to the November 13th 2015 Paris events Charlie Hebdo was considered 'France's 9/11' with one important difference: In 9/11 real people died whereas in the Charlie Hebdo event we were exposed to what essentially was a piece of street theatre. Observe the footage of the gunman supposedly shooting a policeman on the ground. There is no motion of the head responding to the point blank shots from a powerful assault rifle. There is no blood from a head wound. Within twenty-four hours thousands of people are marching carrying identical signs with the words 'Je suis Charlie' written in exactly the same font. It takes time to print thousands of placards and in normal circumstances one sees a diversity of placard designs. This was clearly a public relations stunt organized well in advance of the street theatre 'shootings'. The problem, however, with these media psy-ops - originating, no doubt, from state intelligence agencies – (including among their number, Sandy Hook, the Boston Bombings, the San Bernardino shootings and the more recent November 13th shootings in Paris) is that they are done in such a ham-handed way as to make it obvious to the intelligent observer what is going on. Whether it be the big sign at the run-down Sandy Hook school (which was permanently closed down in 2008 because it was riddled with asbestos) requiring all participants to 'register here' (see the important book by Prof. James H. Fetzer, 'Nobody Died at Sandy Hook'); the purported Sandy Hook parent Robbie Parker inadvertently caught warming-up on camera or the actual re-use of the same 'crisis actors' playing the role of different victims in different events it does not require a person of exceptional brilliance to discern the nature off these events (ie, media psy-ops designed to mould public opinion).

In this pioneering study Barrett brings together a diversity of analysts including former Wall Street Journal editor, Paul Craig Roberts, Rabbi Michael Lerner, Prof. Anthony Hall (current co-host on Truth Jihad radio), Andre Vltchek and the brilliant Dr. Laurent Guyenot. Even though there is a diversity of opinion as to whether the event was real (ie whether the satirists really were murdered or whether they have relocated to some exotic location with a golden handshake) those contributors who do believe are nonetheless appalled by the rank hypocrisy of the media's response and the unseemly attempt to use the event as a pro-Israel marketing tool. The fact-filled book offers a welcome antidote to the crude propaganda that is being churned out by the mass media. This is particularly important as these events are being used to close down free speech (particularly in France where books like these simply cannot be published).

Kevin has edited a follow up book, ANOTHER French False Flag?: Bloody Tracks from Paris to San Bernardino about the events of November 13th 2015 in Paris featuring contributions from Britain's leading dissident intellectual Nicholas Kollerstrom (author of the only serious independent study of the July 7th bombings TERROR ON THE TUBE 4TH ) and Paris based Irish journalist Gearoid O' Colmain, whose RT interview regarding the event was an internet sensation.

Books like these are terribly important in an age when mass media has become little more than a tool of moneyed elites and we are starved for real analysis from tell-it-like-it-is journalism. Kudos and gratitude to Kevin for his years of sterling work.

I am not Charlie either, always thought it was a tasteless scandal sheet inciting hatred--selectively. But this collection is too sloppy, has too many very doubtful contributors such as Alain Soral and Tarpley, so that the reader is forced to make his/her own factual account but even some names are not consistently spelled. The Guyenot piece is important about the 2012 Merah case, and there is a chapter by a catholic philosopher who writes compellingly about people's search for the sacred. But otherwise this book contributes to the conviction of the majority that 'conspiracy theory' is and should remain out of bounds whereas in reality the manipulation and provocation of terror scares is an emergency escape that the ruling class is increasingly tempted to use.
