The Motivation Manifesto is a pulsing, articulate, ferocious call to claim our personal power. World-renowned high performance trainer Brendon Burchard reveals that the main motive of humankind is the pursuit of greater Personal Freedom. We desire the grand liberties of choice—time freedom, emotional freedom, social freedom, financial freedom, spiritual freedom. Only two enemies stand in our way: an external enemy, defined as the social oppression of who we are by the mediocre masses, and an internal enemy, a sort of self-oppression caused by our own doubt and fear.
The march to Personal Freedom, Burchard argues, can be won only by declaring our intent and independence, stepping into our personal power, and battling through self-doubt and the distractions of the day until full victory is won. Recalling the revolutionist voices of the past that chose freedom over tyranny, Burchard—at times poetic yet always fierce—motivates us to free ourselves from fear and take back our lives once and for all.

I've been on monthly calls with Brendon and it goes so fast that its hard to write down meaningful things and the chat flies by with over one thousand in attendance.
With the Manifesto Cards you get his sayings at your fingertips and can choose a new one each day. The first letter of the message on each card is in all caps. I like how he focuses on WE and not just one person.
"We must reclaim our agenda with a forceful grip.
We do not need to wait for perfect conditions; we will find perfection in progress.
We should not fear an obsession for building a great, free life."
It is all about the desire for more personal freedom - a nice addition to the work space and would make a nice gift.
Brendon will tell you he has a belief in over delivering and I tell you he has unequivocally over delivered in this book. There are no personal stories by Brendon though he has several compelling stories that have occurred in his life. There are no stories of the experiences of other people overcoming various trials in life. There is no selling of any of his programs or anything about building online businesses. This volume is simply, plainly and so succinctly filled with line after line of different way of thinking. A different way of looking at life. When referencing his research to write this book he talks about studying history’s revolutionary writings and scholars. Although you certainly get the tone of the historical rhetoric it is not in such a way as to rally the war cries of the populace or the government per se but more so for rising above mediocrity and taking charge of one’s own life! It is about forging ahead in life with the God given talents we are all born with but forgot or killed along the way.
Now, before anyone starts rolling their eyes about how gushy this review is sounding, I’ll remind you of my statement earlier. I am not easily impressed. Raised the son of a career Army veteran and me being a retired Navy submarine vet I’ve seen and heard from my share of impressive leaders in life and can smell a fake a mile away. Having a military mindset I am naturally skeptical of everything and assess everything from the angle someone has with the message or product they are selling every time. I’ve read many books in my life time (leaders are readers) and will read many more as long as I am graced to continue walking on this earth. The Motivation Manifesto is without a doubt in the top two for me. A book that will remain in my library and get reread at least once a year and reference whenever a need for inspiration or motivation arises.
I give this book 5 stars because in my opinion it covers all the areas in life that I personally recognize have been challenges, where I get stuck in a place of negative thinking. The book doesn't just review those areas, but offers a clear way to get out of your own way if you find yourself stuck in those areas.
Take, for example, when you live "checked out" of life, when you're not present, when you're letting life's experiences pass you by because you're so focussed on something (work, money, worries about tomorrow or yesterday). The author offers this wisdom: "The present is all there is." Meditating on that thought alone can bring you back to the present moment, it can shift your thinking from tomorrow and yesterday to right now. There's no magic here, it's just offering a different way of viewing one's life and one's thoughts. It's powerful, but it's not pixie dust and that's what the author is good at getting at. It will require your effort. No one can fix your thoughts but you and you're willingness to do so.
I will be referring to this book again and again. I have underlined a vast number of sentences of wisdom and suggestions. I think in all of my own life's scenarios, this book will be my guide. I thank Brendon Burchard for his dedication to the idea that we all deserve "a seat at the table of joy and personal power."
If you're looking for a quick-fix solution to be more motivated in your life, this book isn't it. If you're looking for a long-term way to think about yourself and your life in a way that helps you to maintain a fully lived life, this book could be one of the best ones to help you along your way.
