I wish I had more time to study the book closely. Though it is lengthy as times but the examples do help. As always, these review books are excellent preps for the FRQ portion, at least on this year's test. It has chapter quizzes and 3 full length practice tests I believe? I needed to study for 5 other exams so I only went through 2 tests. They certainly helped on the MC portion. I recommend it, but for people who plan to self study like I did, use it along with other resources and read the book carefully! Good luck. P.S: I'm feeling at least a 4, Barron's + Crash Course videos (free), humble guess ;)

This is a really good book to prep for the AP exam and I would recommend this one over the Princeton Review. It has more information and it has practice question at the end of each chapter. I didn't pay attention all year because my teacher would get off track really easily but I studied this book along with the Barrons AP Psychology flashcards for just one month and got a 5 on the AP exam. I felt really prepared just from studying out of the Barrons.

The book came so incredibly quick. It's the newest edition out right now I believe (2015). The book is in amazing condition, it looks completely new plus you pay half the price that you would at Barnes and Noble. Definitely recommend, although it's really not that different from the 5th or 6th edition and those are much cheaper, maybe some of the questions are juggled as well as the pages but if your really looking for the completely new updated version jsut spend the extra 2 or 3 dollars.

Detailed enough for AP Psychology test. Does not cover some concepts and the Multiple choice does not accurately reflect the test and concentrates too much on trivial detail. For example, it asks you the specific ages for Jean Piaget's stages of development. The test is easy and you will get a 5 easily enough by self studying only by this book.

Everyone raves about Barrons but I was disappointed by this prep book. It's supposed to contain the most basic, relevant information that you need, but it glosses over or skips topics that are relevant or related. It doesn't even explain topics any better, or more succinctly, than a textbook or online search/video would. Frankly, it hasn't been much use to me; even the practice tests aren't great - the format (wording/style) can be a bit confusing and do not match or even closely resemble AP-style questions. The free response sections are useful enough, though.
I purchased the Barron's flashcards and find them more useful as a supplement/review tool.

I am a high school senior. I bought this book for the purpose of self studying for AP Psychology exam. I heard it was one of the easier AP exams and it is definitely self-study-able. The book includes a diagnostic exam and two full practice exams. It has very exam specific information - such as format, what percent material is tested on each chapter, and helpful tips. Each chapter is divided into very concise and easy to understand subsections with each chapter roughly twenty or so pages. Barron books very closely resembles a textbook in this sense but is much more straight forward and condensed. Each little subsection is usually a paragraph or several paragraphs explaining an idea typically following the format of a definition and examples to explain. Important terms and names listed in the beginning of each chapter and are bolded in the text. I don't recommend using flashcards because a lot of the terms are very common sense (Of course it wouldn't hurt either but if you're tight on time); you should be able to learn and remember what they are through simply reading through the book. Everything is relevant but not necessarily tested so it's good to have at least read over it all once. Personally I went through the book page by page and took notes on everything. I scored 44/100 on the diagnostic exam but ended up getting 96/100 on the first practice exam. This took roughly three days and resulted in around two or three pages of notes per chapter - between twenty to thirty pages of notes. If you're motivated like me then sit down, read the book, and take some notes and you'll be fine.
