Editorial Reviews
From the Author
After helping scores of family reunion planners plan their event it was time to write an idea inspiring how-to book that would not only serve as a step by step guide for planning, organizing and managing casual and formal family affairs but also a keepsake book complete with journal, recipe section and genealogy records. What could make a better memory book, family heirloom or personal gift? I hope you enjoy this book for years to come.
About the Author
Author, Mark Askew, family man, craftsman and nature lover raised in a good mix of connecticut culture seeks to promote and strengthen the most basic and essential unit of society through genealogical discovery. Regarding the inspiration to write this particular book Mark says, "I've been married for over 30 years and have recieved four of the greatest rewards from this union. My sons, daughter-in-law and granddaughter. I did not know such a joy existed. With so many opting not to marry, I wanted to do something that promotes the value of our most precious resource, the fully committed family. Nothing comes close to the deep impressions committed family life makes on our hearts and minds." Why this focus on commitment? Mark continues, "Deliberately choosing one another bespeaks validation, love and approval. Learning to value family matures us and can thereby help us value life itself. It helps us put things in perspective, humbles us and with some guidance gives us an understanding of our core being no other experience can."

I loved this planner because it's a workbook. It covers every detail of what you need to plan an lovely family reunion. You don't need a computer to use this. You can document everything in the book. Your conversations with family members, vendors, comfirmation numbers from hotels all can be written down. It also reminds you of how important family is and so the book can be saved for memory sake along with your pictures from your event. You can have the full memory experience from the planning to the event. Nothing is left out. It even helps you plan a family reunion cruise. It gives you wonderful ideas for you reunion. It's really nice and worth every penny.

I like k e the forms, but you have to try to copy them if you want to use the forms for more then one reunion. The forms are a one time use only and you can't remove the pages which makes it difficult to copy. If not for that the planner would be perfect. I coordinate our family reunions every two years, and this planner had a lot of what I was looking for.

I did not like the book nor can I recommend it to others. Because I felt it did not go further enough with ideas for a successful family adventure.
